The new Linn LP12 50th Anniversary edition
60k for an airpax motor turntable… if it were milled from titanium it still won’t be worth that with a markup. The LP12 is a fine deck and deserves its place in audio history. The best LP12’s I have heard are by The Funk Firm and Vinyl Passio...
Tonearm with a slotted headshell to replace Linn Ittok LV II
Imo, there really is a very limited option for you. The tonearm I use, a special edition well tempered black offers the kind of headshell with slots that you are after, but it is anything but easy to set up. Otherwise, best I can think of would b...
Tonearm with a slotted headshell to replace Linn Ittok LV II
What turntable are you using?..remembering that the LP12 is a very limiting factor as to the weight of a tonearm… if another platform, then you have a much wider number of options.

Apparently, all 250 LP12 50th Anniv tables are now sold!
Is there a ceiling limit on what you are willing to pay for an audio component?
I asked a similar question on a thread I started in the speaker section, except it was if there was a price where a manufacturer could over price his audio wares. Seems like the general consensus was…no. Certainly by the supposed success of the r...
The new Linn LP12 50th Anniversary edition
So that this is not taken in the wrong light, I am a fan of the LP12 table, and I own one. However, I fail to understand the value of new hinges and a new shaped button or logo? I never use my lid for anything but a dust cover to be used only whe...
The new Linn LP12 50th Anniversary edition
While the Thorens is a good table, I do think the Linn is probably better. However, is it 10-30 times better, that i seriously doubt!  Interesting thing is that there are apparently 120 of the 250 tables released already accounted for! That would...

Not junk, but also, at least for the LP12 50th Anniversary, hard to assign that price to value.
The new Linn LP12 50th Anniversary edition
@ghdprentice   Your post makes sense, except it might assume that there is no direct competition for the Linn 50th at its asking price. Problem is, at least IME, there is competition at and slightly above this price point that will put the Linn to...

@lalitk   +1   Where Linn get the idea that their Anniversary 50th LP12 equates to a $60K price tag is beyond me?    However, like always, they probably figure that there are folk with money to burn who will pony up for this model. This kind o...
The new Linn LP12 50th Anniversary edition
If Linn utilize the new design aesthetic across the whole LP12 line, I think this is actually a very nice update. Hopefully ,the price of a new plinth with rounded corners will not be ridiculous; but knowing Linn's marketing....:0(
Linn LP12 & Miyajima Madake or ?
In the Linn protocol of upgrades, the table, arm and lastly the cartridge is the order.  Therefore, if you want to go with their protocol ( which i do agree with), the place to start is with the table components...and in this case, the order is 1...

Audio Research REF 750 pre July 4 FIRE WORKS. TUBE ARC.
Bringing a tube tester for KT150’s can be an interesting idea. Problem is they require 600 volts at the plate, which almost no tester can deliver! Also, it is a good thing you live in a colder climate, because, as you mentioned the Ref 750’s can d...

I once had a similar experience with a large tube amp. It certainly makes your heart rate spike! These days, I think a tube amp with a minimum number of power tubes is the answer. Otherwise, ss is a very good option.IMHO.
