Chinese fake cables How fake, how good?
Can't talk about cable fakes...but in the guitar world it has been known for years that there are tons of fake Gibson Les Paul's out there. So much so, that the well known brick and mortar stores here in the US have sold these as real for years!! ...

I have listened to Audio Note speakers on many occasions, not interested at all... to my ears they are veiled and fail to image realistically due to their almost total lack of depth portrayal ( is this surprising since they are designed to be list...
Bi-Wire Jumpers
Having run a bi-wire set up for many years, I do not agree that running bi-wire is 'useless' as itzhak1969 claims. Many speakers have their x-overs optimized for a bi-wire set up, including many of the SF models. If you have the option of running ...

Have you considered bass trapping in the room? That might alleviate some of the excess bass that you are hearing.I run two (2) subs and with bass trapping there are no issues.
Reasonable high end interconnects: without breaking the bank
Easy, what teajay said in his post...Coppertone by Black Cat cables...a no brainer recommendation.
Black Cat Cable's/Coppertone wires are amazing good!
@yping  Just noticed your question about the Nordost comparison. I own several Nordost cables....and consider them as my reference. When I compared the Nordost Frey cables to the Coppertones, what I was surprised at was how extremely close the tw...

@dep14   Funny you should state that, as that was my feeling as well, when I viewed Chris's new web page. Whoever his web designer was, seemed to miss the point of what the web page is about....or maybe not??Anyhow, the Black Cat cables should be ...

@keithr  I think the little Gamut Rs3's are interesting, although i suspect they would NOT be a good match with my tube amps. A friend used to own the larger floorstanding model, it was a bear to drive and required a hefty ss amp. The Stenheim's s...
Nordost fans
Big fan here! I use the Tyr Phono and interconnect and the Frey speaker cables. Large upgrade over my prior cable looms. I recently added a pair of the Black Cat Coppertone ic's into the mix...from my digital front end. While the Black Cat's are N...

One other thought, and that is to acquire a pair of stacked Quads...the original versions. To my ears, these speakers are some of the purest transducers in the critical midrange of anything that I have ever heard...not sure if they would work in a...

@perazzi28. I have always liked the Wilson Benesch speakers I have heard in the past. I will try and hear a smaller stand mount in their Geometry series, although they too seem to have few dealers here in Calif.

@keithr I will put the Stenheim’s onto my audition list. I thought the larger model 3’s were ok at Long Beach, but not in any way ground breaking or “lust worthy”. Nonetheless, their room was a factor ( as was everyone else’s that day) and the spe...

@keithr  Unfortunately, i wasn’t that impressed with anything at the show (particularly suitable for a small room). The Magico M2’s were ok, but I suspect too difficult to drive with the kind of amps I prefer.

@firsnot. In the area that I live, a speaker, basically any speaker, is a mere fraction of the price of the room. Therefore, the budget for a speaker (any speaker) that would work in a small room is nothing compared to what a large room will cost ...

@yyzsantabarbara   I am also in S.Calif, so listening to the Vimburg's isn't an option yet either. The TAD's would seem to be an option, but also difficult to source for a listen. Plus, I am not sure i would cotton to the hard beryllium tweeter!  ...
