questions for georgehifi and others about powering my Wilson Sasha2s I heard big Audio Research monoblocks(forgot Model) with Sasha DAW about a year ago. Sound was very good. But I still liked the Sonus Faber with MAC 1K monoblocks. Not usually a MAC fan but I liked that better than the Wilsons. Wilsons seemed ...
Upgrade Time With a little patience, you can find demos. Nice ones. Check Reno HiFi for Pass. Nice prices. There are several other ones. Music Room, Upscale Audio, etc. Upscale has a 2600 DAC new that is supposed to be awesome.
So I just bought a Hegel H390 and So this Hegel will drive speakers with low impedence dips?
Bad recordings and high end audio Is 14x20 a big enough room for Maggies? You could try hybrid integrated, some use tube pre with Class D.PS i stream Led Zep 24 bit and it's not as bad as some make it sound. Some versions have questionable instrument placement but guitar and voi...
The first system you had that was "high end/audiophile", by you standards I have had quite a few nice components but never a whole system until now. Several setups are probably disqualified because of the use of black stock RCA and lampcord.

I'm looking for a pair of interconnects that won't shatter the bank.... Hi,I have all Pine Tree Audio cables and IC. Nice copper interconnects and ribbon speaker cables. Customer service beyond expectations. Quick shipment and reasonably priced. I would say all the stuff I have is neutral in sound. The IC I have...
How are most audiophiles going from streamers to DACS This can be very frustrating for someone setting up a new system. I did not keep up with latest changes for 20 yrs.I have a bluesound. I think the streamers that have USB are higher $$. Your streamer and DAC will give you satisfying sound. I a...
Loudest Sound Ever? Dynamite used to break loose slag in a boiler. Only half a stck. Had on ear protection good for 25 dB reduction and it was still very loud and concussive.
I feel bad for GenX'ers that missed out on the 60s and 70s. Music is like anything else, there are a certain percentage that are timeless. That era i.e. the 60s and 70s had great music and lots of new technology to play with. I would be excited and creative too. But I also hear music from that era that ...
Who is ditching their shiny disc spinners? I made the decision to go to streaming. My CD player was broken. I gave up records long ago. It simply would cost too much to do all three media right. I find streaming to sound good. I spent about $1100 on a DAC and streamer. Big debate ab...
More watts or better power ? Your amp plays loud enough so keep it. Subs crossed at 80 Hz or so will take more load off the Xa25. The speakers will sound better with less IM distortion.Don Sachs and Supratech make excellent tube preamps if you want to try one.Speaker isolat...
More watts or better power ? I love the XA25. I own one. If it already plays loud enough.....So. Cross the subs at 80 to 100 Hz. Then you for sure have enough power. The drivers in your speakers will vibrate less at lower volumes clearing up the sound, less IM distortion....
CD Quality Versus Streaming Quality I have always loved music. I had a thousand albums. I always seeked out the new trends. And a $4 album was actually quite a bit of money. Move forward. My old stuff was worn out. My LPs gone, my CDs scratched. I chose streaming. I want to l...
