Shelby Lynne Live I believe there has a been a recent re-pressing on vinyl. I don't know which pressing I have, but it has quite a bit of surface noise. Still sounds good though.
Power Wedge 1 vs Furman Elite 15 PF I use the Furman in both my two channel and HT setups and its great. I run everthing, amps and all, through the Furman and cannot detect any ill effects.
What is your cartridge and tracking force used Dynavector 20XL. Recommended 1.8 to 2.2. I use 2.1 on my Scout since VPI recommends running the cartridge close to the maximum on that table. Plus it sounds great at that VTF, especially after a MintLP setup.
Tube preamp with SS amps and Emerald Physics cs2? Looking at the Emerald Physics website, it appears that they recommend at least 200 watts for the low frequency section of the CS2's, so the Red Wine amps would appear to be woefully underpowered. I would suggest contacting Walter Lieberman at Und...
which tube mono blocks? How about the Rogue Zeus monoblocks @ 225 watts and reasonably priced used - at least compared to some of the other options referenced.
JL Audio f112 blown speaker? Make sure the connectors of your cables aren't touching adjoining cables on the back of your processor. Make sure your connectors aren't loose on your cables.
Denon AVR 2808 or Arcam AVR 300 I would get the Denon. Any AVR more than 1 1/2 years old is way behind on current technology - particularly HDMI connections, which you will likely want sooner rather than later. And, in any event, the Denon's are fine sounding AVR's. Also, look a...
In market for AVR and need suggestions I would get something with HDMI inputs/outputs to make it more future proof, since that's the way all dvd/blu-ray players are going. Also, many current AVR's in your price range have Audyssey room correction which is nice. I would look at the Onky...
Opus 21 vs Esoteric X-3se Well, the "running direct" question is a completely different discussion than the quality of digital playback between the two players. In my system, I prefer using a preamp, though I know many run the Opus direct. As with selecting any preamp, you...
Opus 21 vs Esoteric X-3se I own the GNSC modded Opus and love it. I have heard the Esoteric (not in my system) and would agree with Arbuckle's assessment. However, as the old saying goes, "the devil is in the details". I think the detail level of the Esoteric really puts t...
$500 used CD Player Recommendations The Jolida JD100 is an easy recommendation in that price range. I owned one and it was very good for the money.
C.d player with built in Pre amps i.e Wadia To clarify my prior response, I have the GNSC modded Opus 21 as well and its a wonderful CDP. When I first got it, I used it as a pre and it did an admirable job; however, inserting a pre into my system really allowed the Opus to do its job as a C...
Panasonic BD30 BluRay Player a good transport? I own the BD30, but can't comment on its use as a transport since I use it exclusively for movies. My point in responding to your thread is to advise that I saw this player on sale at Sears today for $199. A STEAL at that price because its a very ...
Logitech Squeezebox III Power Supply/Mods Bolder has a forum over at Audiocircle that may help.
Newbie Analog High Expectations?? I'm about two months into my reintroduction to vinyl and I'm having a blast with it, but honestly it has been a bit of a money pit. I would suggest that you add at least another 25% to your budget for ancillary stuff, like cleaning supplies, etc.,... |
