magnepan @ozzy62 LOL. Good one! And unfortunately, I think you're probably right...
WHY IS THERE SO MUCH HATE FOR THE HIGH END GEAR ON AUDIO GEAR? @calvinj I find these are usually the "measurements only" folks who are seeking confirmation that their equipment is better, just as good as, or best because some guy on YouTube with a multi-meter gave it a Pink Panther stamp of approval, LOL. ...
WHY IS THERE SO MUCH HATE FOR THE HIGH END GEAR ON AUDIO GEAR? Buy what you like, and like what you buy. Everyone has a budget. *shrugs* I think there’s a lot of jealousy in this hobby. That, and people who think they’re smarter than everyone else. Either way, you end up with a lot of butt-hurt know-it-al...
ISO - grit, texture, decay, life from snares and bass drums @tunefuldude , Beryllium tweeters are good, as long as that’s the sound you’re going for. Very crisp and precise. The OP mentioned snare and cymbal pop. Can't really get better than Be for that, imo.
ISO - grit, texture, decay, life from snares and bass drums What I am getting from this is Be. Beryllium. Not good for you, but "sharp". You'll be happy with the decay, trust me....
Anyone with similar equipment I've owned Parasound equipment. I'm a Synergistic Research fan. I think even their entry level cables would pair well. I'd stay away from silver cables. Maybe give usedcables.com a look.
Your best ''outstanding'' products in last 5 yrs? Let’s see....best bang for the buck in the last 5 years. Rythmik G22 subwoofer. Beastly, musical, articulate, and tight. 2x12 servo subs in a piano black finish for under $2k. Rather remarkable, actually. Very pleasantly surprised. Also picked u...
What percentage of digital vs. analog? I'm 100% digital, baby! LOL. I have (literally) thousands of CD's, and that's all I listen to. I don't even have my streamer hooked up. I probably have 3000 Classical CDs. I have friends with turntables, and some of them sound quite good. But t...
Maybe the Journey is Over?........Well...... Upgrading can be fun. Expensive, but fun. Enjoy.
"I'm a believer" @simonmoon "Seems to me, that the point of diminishing returns for a lot of people, mysteriously starts at the point that their ’sour grapes’ kicks in." Or their wallets give out. 😉
Prima Luna Vs Accupahse I'll put another vote in for the Accuphase. I don't think anyone's going to argue the build quality...probably last you forever. Prima Luna.....well, not so much.
"I'm a believer" "...anyone that spends $20,000 for a piece of wire is either stupid or has more money than brains,..." Ahh yes...another thinly veiled insult hurled from the cheap seats. How about if someone is running $500k worth of amplification? (D’Agostino ...
"I'm a believer" "...there is no other item in high end audio that fall under the "Rule of Diminishing Returns" like loudspeakers." I disagree strongly with that statement, but hey, you do you.
SR Master Fuse on preamp Not really pertinent to the conversation, but what player doesn't have a fuse? I thought all UL equipment had to have a fuse..... I've not tried SR'S master fuse, but am a big fan of the oranges and purples.
NPS-Q45T on internal amplifier fuses "...this may cause a fire hazard because it increases thermal energy." Resistance causes heat. NPS doesn't increase resistance, so....I'd say an increase in "thermal energy" (*ahem*) is probably nothing you need to worry about. |
