Youtube audiophile hi res sounds MUCH better than my Eversolo streamer
YouTube audio is lossy and compressed, not unlike an mp3 file. That can make the music sound "punchy" and some people prefer that quality.

The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"!
willywonka I agree with you. I'm pretty sure colors aren't patented. It might not have been a threat and may just have been a friendly request ... The legal term is "trade dress" and it's an interesting area of the law with some unusual co...

sandthemall FLAC is a lossless compressed format and please remember ‘lossless’ is a euphemism for negligible loss. No, FLAC is lossless. That is to say it can render a bit perfect copy of the original file. FLAC is 60% the size of the o...

Audio Research Pre-Amp advice
daveteauk ... what exactly is 'critical'? What part does it play... 2000hrs seems a very very low figure for replacement - what do you experience, in SQ, after that time ... The 6550 tube in ARC Ref5/Ref 6/Ref phono is in the power supply. It ...

I see the issue with ABX blind testing
botrytis ... When they say, ’aka people who can’t or haven’t developed the ability to use/trust their own ears’ I am done with the discussion as arrogance rules the day ... You've proven your point admirably well.

Mine makes no gurgling sound at all. The pump runs quietly and smoothly whether filling or draining the tank.
Insurance for system
Do you have an existing homeowner's or renter's insurance policy? Reading it would be a good place to start. All my gear is covered under my homeowner's policy.
Looking for advise and recommendations on a nice record cleaner.
mijostyn I have yet to see scanning electron microscope pictures of records cleaned by various methods. It is all assumption, all of it. Nonsense. It's easy to play a dirty record, clean it, and then play it again but in proper condition. You ...
Looking for advise and recommendations on a nice record cleaner.
mijostyn The KL uses blowers to dry the record ... this is just as bad, maybe worse than plain air drying in a rack. Any contaminants dissolved in the water remain on the record as water evaporates. This is the main reason I did not get one ...
