New 55,000 Euro tonearm
lewm To comment on the observable design and construction of a tonearm without necessarily speculating on its putative sonic character is no sin ... I don't think anyone here is debating that. What we're discussing are those who render what ...

juanmanuelfangioii ... it would be a shame to see them go the way of other iconic American brands like General Electric that has zero US manufacturing now. You don’t know what you’re talking about; GE is a huge domestic manufa...

in_shore ... what I don’t understand is how people can begin to have any sort of an opinion on a component they’ve never actually listened to only to be triggered emotionally by the retail price ... I don't get it either, @in_shore, so p...

dover We have many posters here on audiogon who are experts on products they have never heard. They usually resort to scientific arguments - but of course they forget that scientific research and discovery should include both theory and practi...

nonoise This is the business model that Mitt Romney made his fortune from. Take over board by buying out member ... leave company with debt so large they have to declare bankruptcy ... In case you weren't aware, @nonoise  Romney has actually...
Are some streaming players more reliable than others?
I've never had issues streaming from Qobuz or other sources. I started with a Raspberry Pi, then "upgraded" (or so I thought at the time) to an Aurender, then dumped that for a Bryston BDP-3. They all worked well using wired connection.

What type of wire for dedicated 20A AC lines?
twoleftears If you’re putting in a dedicated 20amp line, or even 2 or 4 of them, and if there are no free spaces on the main breaker box panel that you currently have, do you also end up putting in a new larger panel? Does a sub-panel solve ...
Speaker cutting out intermittently
george53 I reversed speaker connections on the back of the amp, and powered up.  Everything good. Great! Maybe you had a loose connection on the back of the amplifier. I wouldn't worry about it unless the problem returns.
Monstrous power cables
1971gto455ho ... Let’s have a few of these high cost cable manufactures randomly select on their honour of course, 10 people for blind A/B testing ... I’ll wager there won’t be a lineup of manufactures Interested. Once again, those who clamo...
Precision Motor Controller
testpilot Isn’t a VPI SDS a low power AC regenerator that takes the incoming wall AC and regenerates it into a 20 watt variable AC frequency? Yes, both frequency and voltage are adjustable. It’s really not suitable for DC motors.
What type of wire for dedicated 20A AC lines?
bigtwin 12/2  NM Copper Wire.  Available at any DIY store.  All you will ever need to meet code and run 20 Amps.  That is mistaken. What is the length of the run? Is it in conduit? Depending on the answers, 12/2 may not meet local code, wh...
