Cartridge Force - Is a Little 'Over-Force' Okay?
I agree that it's best to confirm VTF with a good gauge, but I do not think it is a good idea to exceed the manufacturers VTF spec. The problem is really the dust cover, not the counterweight.
Cable curmudgeon
twoleftears I don’t really understand the motivations of cable-deniers. Are they trying to "save" everybody from pointlessly spending money? Some claim that, as you probably know. But I think they’re really here just to argue. That’s why ...

clearthinker You are incorrect.  My post was not derogatory to Soix. It's silly for you to be arguing with me. If you truly believe that your post was not derogatory, take your complaint to the moderators. They're nice people. They will expl...

+1 @teo_audio. You really summarized this well.   You left off one characteristic, however. These same people will recoil in feigned bewliderment when one of their vile, insulting, degrading posts is deleted by a moderator. "A moderator jus...

Win 7 is obsolete, but have you checked for the obvious things, such as looking at Task Manager to see if you have any unnecessary competing processes?

johnax ... one solution proposed by TAP to the buyer is shipping the unit to APL, asking APL to remove the transport and ship the transport to Esoteric in Japan where Esoteric can replace the laser pickup, and then Esoteric could ship the t...
Service question: Who can service an Esoteric UX-1 CD/SACD player modified by APL NWO 3.0?
johnax ... in this instance I am not asking Esoteric to be responsible for APL’s work. APL modified the DAC circuitry, the problem is in the transport which APL did not modify. Perhaps, although Esoteric has no way of bein...
Bryston Bda3 vs 3.14 Streamer
mahler123 The streamer sounds good but the program that runs it, Manic Moose, makes it a non starter There's always Rigelian for those who won't settle for Manic Moose.
Turntable noobie...what advice do you have?
mijostyn I disagree in the extreme that new records are contaminated and need to be cleaned. Just sweeping the incidental dust out of the way will do ... new records do not need to be cleaned. They only need the incidental dust swept away...
Service question: Who can service an Esoteric UX-1 CD/SACD player modified by APL NWO 3.0?
Having a manufacturer or distributor refuse to service a component that has been modified by another is a always a potential problem with modified gear. You can't fault the manufacturer for that, in my view. Otherwise, they become responsible for ...
