Win 7 is obsolete, but have you checked for the obvious things, such as looking at Task Manager to see if you have any unnecessary competing processes?

  mijostyn I disagree in the extreme that new records are contaminated and need to be cleaned. Just sweeping the incidental dust out of the way will do ... new records do not need to be cleaned. They only need the incidental dust swept away...

Having a manufacturer or distributor refuse to service a component that has been modified by another is a always a potential problem with modified gear. You can't fault the manufacturer for that, in my view. Otherwise, they become responsible for ...
