Headphones? I could use your experience/thoughts.
Jusk make sure you know that Grados have no isolation whatsoever.  You need to listen in a quiet room, just like with your speakers.  I have a pair of G1000i and they're great.
Mark Levinson - how to fix white logo paint that has peeled away?
I used to sell and mix custom paint colors and there are a thousand different shades of white.  Each one had little bits of yellow, black, red...Whatever it took to get the desired shade.  You will never match it exactly without knowing the precis...
Directionality, Fuses, Demagnetizing, Warm-up: Tweaks Matter!
I was a professional musician for many years and I learned something - don't assume that nobody else can hear something just because you can't.  I had a professor that said anyone who couldn't hear the difference between a white key and a black ke...
Directionality, Fuses, Demagnetizing, Warm-up: Tweaks Matter!
Are there truly people out there unable to hear this? Or is it that they are so sure of what they think must be that they’ve never actually tried to discern what is? A little of both? Or completely different? ________________________Yes.And there ...

As you are working with a dealer, a home demo is in order.  That is the only way you will know what kind of bass response you are going to get in your room and with your amplifier.  The Leben is a low-powered unit and may not elicit the bass you n...
Music I would succumb to under torture
I personally cannot stand Rush.  Bad music played well.  But that's me.
Poll: Naim owners, what cabling are you using? DIN? RCA? NACA5? Other?
@williewonka - as I recall, the little Nait did not require the use of Naim cables for extra inductance, which I believe is what prevented oscillation.  That's how I remember it.  So the issue is not low capacitance, but higher inductance that's n...

I think you can probably use any flatcap with the CD5s,  The flatcap, unlike the Hicap, has 2 outputs, so you can probably upgrade both, but I got out of the Naim game before your integrated came out.  My guess though, is that you might find more ...
Poll: Naim owners, what cabling are you using? DIN? RCA? NACA5? Other?
All I can say is, you will be shocked at the degree of upgrade the flatcap makes with the CD5x.  IMO, it should be your first investment and then the Hiline.  IMO, you should leave the speaker cables until last, if at all.

I don't think you're going to find many Naim lovers here.  I was heavily into it back in 2005 or so and I think it's great stuff.  At that time, they only had the standard grey DIN interconnect, but when the HiLine came out it was a revelation.  I...
Speaker Width?
+1.  Herbie's gliders are excellent.  You don't necessarily need the giant fat ones.  The regular ones work very well on wood or tile floors.
3 things I learned from using MANY interconnect cables
I think he's saying that cables are listener dependent.  Can't argue with that.
Ayre cx 8 cd player
Interesting.  Is it possible that people are getting tired of the streamers, NAS, complicated remotes, etc?  IMO, it's nice to just pop in a disc and listen, isn't it?  I'm sure this will have all the other capabilities too, but I am pleasantly su...
Looking for more transparency.
I had the Mapleshade cables - the cheapest ones as I recall and they were definitely on the bright side for my taste, but not so much so.  I think they might work well in a dark-sounding system to liven things up.  Cables aren't tone controls?  Th...

If you get the Morrows, have them do the break in for you. I know many say it is BS and they have the right to their opinions, but I had the SP3s a few years back and they were virtually unlistenable.  I sent them back for a break in and they were...
