Tired of bootleg I would find it hard to believe that anyone who would know what Nordost or Siltech cables were would believe they were getting genuine cables from China for thirty bucks. I think the world is safe from the clutches of the Chinese cable companies.
If you solicit offers, shouldn't you respond? Unless you're talking about an item that costs a fortune to ship, offering the asking price less shipping seems very reasonable. Sounds to me like the seller was away for a few days or maybe his computer is down or something like that. Give it a c...
REVIEW: Schiit Bifrost DAC It's always nice to see someone happy with a purchase choice. Let's revisit this thread in a year and see how everything shakes out. Enjoy.
Gruv Glide - Do you use it? Doug - of course, to each his own, but I really can't see how the force of a stylus in the grove, which, considering the contact area, is probably measured in tons per square inch, could be "impeded" by anything. Is it possible that the perceived ...
Anyone using Bada 225 amp? Impressions? I bought the older model to use while my main amp was being repaired. The Bada is a fabulous amp for the money. Powerful, smooth, full-function remote. I really think that if I were assembling a budget system, the Bada would be the hands-down winner.
Gruv Glide - Do you use it? There are many people who are against putting any type of coating on the record once it is properly cleaned and they are certainly entitled to their preferences. I happen to use GG, but only due to its ability to prevent static buildup, which is a...
Rega phono cart,s that can be used without spacer I believe the Goldring Eroica might fit without a spacer. BTW, it is a very nice cartridge for the money. Available lo or hi output.
Esoteric K-05 or K-07? I owned an X-05 for about 6 months and it was anything but warm or lush. Perhaps their more expensive players have a different tonal balance.
Speakers for low power SET, nearfield, low volume? Have Fritz make you a pair of single-driver standmounts. I have a pair with the 4" Fostex drivers and they really sound good at low volumes. I think they only cost about $400 and they're very well built, IMO.
Change the cartridge or phono stage Just try the Herbies mat before spending more money and taking your tonearm apart. The sound may well be improved to your satisfaction.
Lamm LL2.1 Deluxe "DC Offset"? Gr-gin, I'm sorry to say this, but you chose to make this a public matter. I cannot believe that any dealer that handles an uber high-end line like Lamm would leave you hanging with a defective product. IMO, there is more to this story than we're ...
Change the cartridge or phono stage I assume you mean the Music Hall turntable? Try a Herbies mat. You're probably thinking that a mat can't make that much of a difference, but on that table it does. Much more warmth and bottom end, IMO. Herbies gives a 30-day money back, so there's...
Tekton custom grills Maybe the guy's basement flooded.
Integrates That Go Well With Totem Forest The Bada DC225 is excellent. 75WPC, tube hybrid. $1200 at Pacific Valve with 30 day money back. If you really want to blast, Bada makes a more powerful amp at about $1800, but I haven't heard it. Also available at Pacific Valve.
looking for cable recommendations Naim amps are meant to work with a minimum of 12.5' of Naim cable in order to keep the amps stable. I believe Spectral amps might also require Spectral/MIT cables. Other than those 2, I'm not aware of any other cable/amp compatibility issues that ... |
