Surge Protectors @erik_squires First, I'm jealous of you living in South Carolina. Second, I realize I don't have to deal with lightning and I don't know what I would do if I did. so I should temper my comments. I use a PS Audio PP10. I'm not sure if that woul...
Surge Protectors Surge protectors are evil. Your active speakers are probably class D and much less current sensitive. But still, putting a surge protector downstream of your new circuit is like buliding a new road and leaving your driveway gravel. Sure protect...
Loud pop right speaker, no right channel sound First swap speaker cables to determine if it is the speaker or the electronics. very easy unless your speaker cables are exact length. Figure out what the problem is before you try to fix it.

Garbage In Garbage out I'm with you on sensitive speakers and low wattage SETs. I'm ok with 96dB and above. Currently listening to a 2 wpc amp. I had a well known 300 wpc amp and was thinking I needed new speakers. Put my speakers on the market. A guy came over t...
Lumin U2 mini device not powering on Yes. that is a 2 amp fast blow. If it keeps blowing fuses, then you have a problem. Solid State electronics nowdays don't fail to high current often so it was probably a fuse issue. Jerry
Innuos owners. Chime in Low current so any good power cord is adequate. Good internet is key. I use a silver plated internet cable (lots available). I don't use their ap, I use roon. Looking at adding a phonenix external clock and perhaps a phoenix switch, both of ...
Power Cord choices Powercords do matter, but they can only degrade sound. Once you get an adequate power cord, the sound will not be degraded. Many expensive power cords have all kinds of fancy claims and when you ask them what gauge they are they say "14, anyth...
High end speakers at low volume In my opinion, the best way to get a system that sounds good at low volume is with an SET and a pair of sensitive speakers. As I have improved the quality of my system, every detail, especially the digital, the less I need to turn it up, i.e., th...
IsoAcoustics Gaia Footers AND Townshend Seismic Podiums Two springs in series becomes a very complicated physics problem to solve (not unsolvable, but not easy). The solution can have higher peaks and valleys and some un-expected harmonics and singularities. I think the Townsend springs will dominate...
Too powerful of an amp!? @jbhiller 's advice above struck me wrong until I kept reading. You won't damage an amp with a low power signal unless it is clipping/distorting. So buying a low power amp AND turning it up too loud will damage speakers. Jerry

300b lovers The show mentioned in this thread is in 2 weeks. There was very little at the LA show this past weekend in the way of 300b. One that had promise was very nice japanese 300b paired with Songer field coil speakers. But the speakers were only 93dB... |
