Brooklyn Bridge or Aurender
The Aurender N100 is not a dac.Your post is confusing. Which dac is better than which?
Brooklyn Bridge or Aurender
Of course. A simple lapse. It’s the Brooklyn dac that does the MQA decoding.

Wow George.Does my N100 have this problem? I rarely listen to files that are stored on the hard drive. Do mostly Tidal listening, when I’m not listening to lp’s.Tony in CA.
Speaker upgrade around 100k retail
Unless I missed it, no one is suggesting YG speakers. If I were in the market at your price range I would give them a serious listen. I’ve heard them about half a dozen times in various venues, and each time it was wonderful.I think Yoav Geva is o...
AT-ART9 cartridge on Marantz TT-15s1 - I don't think I'm getting the performance I should
Based on your results with the Fozgmeter, I’m guessing that you have a damaged cartridge. You should not have to tilt the cartridge that much to achieve correct azimuth. I have an ART9, it was simple to set up, and has taken the sound quality of m...
Interconnect recommendations for phono preamp to integrated amp
I would stick with Kimber, if you’re happy withe the kcag. But Hero is lower quality than what you have. I like Silver Streak, which is almost in the same class as kcag. Haven’t heard Carbon, but that should also be comparable to kcag.
Image depth
Thank you all for filling in a lot of holes in my understanding. I can remember my first experience of depth and soundstage size. It was in a small hotel room at a NY show years ago. The walls disappeared and there was a live orchestra stretching ...

What I’m getting from reading about recording techniques, is that godd recording techniques will fool the ear-brain location finding function to create an approximate aural image, but does not actually duplicate the exact sonic signature (amplitud...

Furthermore, it seems to me that a few microphones, no matter where they are positioned during recording, cannot possibly duplicate a music waveform’s ampliture and phase exactly as it would occur at a live listener’s ears. So how can an accurate ...
Choice of Phono Cartridges
I have had both Sumiko cartridges, and currently have both a Hana EL and Ortofon 2M Bronze. IMO, the Hana and Ortofon are superior to the Blue Points.  The 2M Bronze is more dynamic, and has more detail than Hana. The Hana is smoother overall, and...
Amp Speaker Pairing
The Pass Labs amps will drive virtually any speaker. However, they will sound best on more efficient speakers because the amps will operate in class A over a wider dynamic range. I have the XA 60.5s and love them.
How to accurately gauge speaker sensitivity to match with tube amp?
FWIW I have a fairly low power tube amp, Manley Stingray, 38 watts UL or 19 watts triode, that drive my floorstanders with tight authoritative bass and sweet open mids and highs. The speakers are somewhat vintage Audio Physic Scorpios. They each h...
Phono Cartridge for $1,000.
Recently purchased the AT ART9 from Upscale Audio. Best sounding cartridge I’ve had so far, and have had 3 pricier ones. Strengths are detail, bass, imaging and timbral accuracy. It just sounds live. Also have a low end Hana EL, also from Upscale. ...
Lumin or Aurender
I own both a Lumin D1 with linear outboard power supply and an Aurender N100 feeding a Brooklyn dac. They are in two separate systems. Sound is about the same, since I’ve swapped them in each system. Both are bested, however, by a Pro-ject Signatu...
High quality amplifier to speaker switch
Good idea.
