Linlai E 6sn7 tubes Treasure Globe 6SN7-SE (pair or single, GF Limited Special Edition) – Premium Vacuum Tubes Maybe I got the last pair. On their way. Still waiting on my refund from Viva for the noisy E6SN7 pair. My email exchange with Rachel at GF was reassuring ...
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes I should be getting my credit from them for my returned tubes any day now. Good specs, but noisy. That is why I paid a premium for Grant Fidelity tubes as they actually listen to them with headphones to weed out the noisier of the quietist tubes. ...
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes Thanks!
Don Sachs Owners Thread I did replace my rectifier resistor tonight. The previous one was, in fact, blown, and open. The new resistor is a 0.22 ohm. It does not make noisy tubes quieter btw.
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes Grant Fidelity say they listen to them with headphones to ensure low noise. Has anyone tried the globe version? I bought the regular version, and while only 30 minutes of running, they are fairly noisy and don't have much bass at this time.
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes My first bad pair came from China. My second came from Viva and are going back today. My second pair from same China source were acceptable. Tube sellers measure them but don’t have time to listen to them.
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes I bought a pair from them. A bad pair, but they have a great return policy with prepaid shipping labels.

Linlai E 6sn7 tubes Dan sent back my first pair. They are still noisy. Too noisy for me to play. I'll try replacing my resistor in the preamp this week and try them again to see if that affects them, but it shouldn't.
Don Sachs Owners Thread Forgot to mention; running a 5852 tube is okay IF you have the proper resistor in place. My PCB has the old 1 ohm resistor and that is too high for the higher current 5852. You need a .1 to .22 ohm, 1 or 2 watt to be able to run both 6X5 and 5852 ...
Don Sachs Owners Thread Keep in mind the ground tab on the preamp is the same as the ground on your IEC inlet and all the outer shells of every audio connector on the unit. Essentially they are all chassis ground and the electrical ground. So be careful to not create a g...
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes Received my replacement pair from China and FINALLY, they are almost completely hiss-free. Magnitudes better than the other 2 pairs I have tried. While I was getting 8 inches of hiss on all my other tubes, these are about 20 inches, evenly so lef...
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes I think the 5852 tube messed up that circuit, which happened right before the Linlai's showed up. I had another 6X5 do the same tonight so I think when everything warms up the damaged component is flaking out. Perhaps the Linlai's irritate that co...
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes I'm not having issues with any other tubes. Just the Linlais. Tomorrow I will measure the pin diameters and compare. Then take the preamp apart and check for solder joint cracks. Then I may force the tubes in without the lid attached and support... |
