Well I joined the Silversmith FIDELIUM Speaker cable club today
Well I joined the Silversmith FIDELIUM Speaker cable club today Later I can post a photo of the mod (slits) to my cable risers I use to keep the spacing tamed on these. I don't find them dainty and I'm quite clumsy and non-athletic. I just have my ruggedly handsome looks to get me through life......
If a speaker cable added 1 - 2 ohms of resistance would that be? No one is buying Fideliums because of the resistance. I'll measure mine for you this weekend as I swap out amps. I believe mine are 11 feet(?). Why would this be any different than the boxes MIT and Transparent put on their cables?
Don Sachs Owners Thread Tubes pulled out, and they may have many hours on them: Psvane CV181-T's on the left-most sockets Sylvania 6SN7GTB's in the middles sockets Philco 6BY5 rectifier The tubes I had in my stores placed into service: shunguang Treasures CV181-Z...
Well I joined the Silversmith FIDELIUM Speaker cable club today I did not notice any break in changes. Stunning from day one. I don't see contradictions in his statement. I see several points being made there. Made sense to this old engineer's "large" brain :). Handling: I've had these for 2 years and had no...
Don Sachs Owners Thread I reduced the hiss to 6 inches or less when I replaced the rectifier tube. Don has also informed me of new caps to put into the outputs which are on order. They should be even smoother and perhaps a little quieter. I also have ordered the Linlai ...
Puritan PSM156 Like wig, I replaced my Inakustik over a year ago with the Puritan. It's not going anywhere. It does its thing and stays out of the way.
Well I joined the Silversmith FIDELIUM Speaker cable club today Nice! These are pretty darn good. Now if Jeff could get the IC's engineered.
recommended speaker cables and interconnects Boy, cables can be a quagmire. There are good cables for your system at all price ranges. The difficulty is finding the right match. I'm off the speaker cable search with Fideliums now for 2 years. Not inexpensive, but not stratospheric in price...
Don Sachs Owners Thread I have 2 outputs of different levels. The Mytek output which I prefer is rated higher for a broader range of amps and is for >30k amps. The Mundorf Silver cap output is for SS amps around 10k. My DAC Cherry 2 is 20k. Either output has the same ...
Review of Rogue Audio RP-9 preamp Thanks. I remember others who have owned 6H30 tubed gear saying they tend to run hotter than other tubes. I think the 91 db of my Wilsons and the gain of my Sachs preamp are not fully compatible. I am wanting the musicality and black background s...
Don Sachs Owners Thread Okay. The music is sensational. I just want to have a blacker background. I've read elsewhere that the low level hiss is normal for the Wilsons but with my Pass pre I had almost no hiss. Probably half as much.
Don Sachs Owners Thread Question for D2 owners; do you have tube rush at zero throttle? My Wilson's aren't overly sensitive at 91 db and the amp is a Cherry 2. I enjoy the sound but what keeps coming back to me is the Pass XP12 was almost dead quiet as a solid state unit...
Review of Rogue Audio RP-9 preamp How is the noise level of the preamp? Is there noise at idle via the tubes or is it, dare I say, dead quiet?
Grounding cable gauge size One is about 8x8x4. The other I thought I would experiment with longer and fewer runs of metal. It is closer to 15x7x4. The metal strips are all 2 inches and the MDF is 1/2", hence the 4 inch box depth. I was trying to have a greater amount of cop... |
