Speakers to hang on to for LIFE
The Summits sounded good at RMAF. I heard the Denalis in Denver Sunday night after RMAF was over. Impressive dynamics. They're $65k, not $40k.
My oh my....guys check this out
It's no hoax, it's the real deal. As others noted, Bruce demonstrated it at RMAF. The price is not out of line for what it does, and the design is technically sound (pun intended).Brian
REALITY CABLES ?
Bluemike, the cables you mentioned are vastly different from each other, so I don't understand your comments. Further, since you didn't describe the system(s) in which the cables were compared, there is no frame of reference.
Is the EMM DAC6e or DCC2 /CDSD the best out there?
Iujona, why would you have to spend $60k to try some of the players suggested? I wouldn't expect to have to buy a car just to take a test drive. Perhaps some dealers in NYC where you are charge a fee for a home audition, but that's entirely differ...
New scam on the internet????
Paypal is well aware of this kind of scam and has pages on its website that discuss it. An important thing to look for in such emails is that actual emails from Paypal always open with "Dear (your name)", not "Dear Paypal User" or "Dear Paypal Sub...
Is the EMM DAC6e or DCC2 /CDSD the best out there?
Kennyt, if I had to choose between the EMM and the dCS, I would agree, but fortunately there are others available, and to my ear and others' the Reimyo is superior to both, being much more analog sounding and involving. Disclaimer - I sell the lat...
Is the EMM DAC6e or DCC2 /CDSD the best out there?
Iujona, visit or call your local dealers. They should let you try the stuff at home if you ask, and if they won't, don't do business with them. I say this as a longtime audiophile first and a dealer second. I sell what I find to be best, but you m...
Is the EMM DAC6e or DCC2 /CDSD the best out there?
Please search the archived messages here. This topic has been covered many times, with no clear consensus. I urge you to audition several in your own system and trust your ears, not what you might read online.
What is your comfort level?
Uru975: Great post! More people should listen with their ears, not with their pocketbooks or what they read. When you hear what you can't live without and can get it, it's nice to get off the bus and enjoy the music.Brian
How many types..
Do you mean brands?Atma-SphereJoule ElectraTenor (they went out of business, not sure if they're back)Berning (a point of contention since some claim it's not a true OTL)There are several others by companies that are defunct.Brian
WHAT WOULD CAUSE JC-1 MONOBLOCK TO SELF DESTRUCT?
Seadogs1, I suggest you contact your dealer and/or Parasound as mentioned above to discuss problems you may be experiencing. John Curl does not visit this website and rarely gets involved in service matters. Tony or Bob can help you.
Top loading CD Player clearances
I've found about 3" clearance above the Reimyo CD player is adequate, although I prefer to have it on the top shelf for easiest access. The player itself is 5 1/2" high.
Top loading CD Player clearances
With the Reimyo with its sliding door you only need perhaps two to three inches, just enough room for your hand and to change CDs. For ease of access I prefer to put the Reimyo on the top shelf with nothing above it, but obviously it's not mandato...
WHAT WOULD CAUSE JC-1 MONOBLOCK TO SELF DESTRUCT?
Angela, this is rare as far as I know, but when a JC-1 gets into a runaway condition a domino effect of output device failure is possible. Your friend should contact Parasound service, toll free 866-770-8324, and it probably wouldn't hurt for him ...
Vibration control question....
If using granite, try sticking linoleum to the underside, which can be an effective way to damp vibrations without sucking the life out of the music. Try cones or tiptoes in addition, the material of which depends upon what's underneath.Brian
