Mcintosh customer support They are not the only ones doing this. My BelCanto streamer is 4 yrs old and one year ago it stopped playing 24/192 files. So my answer from them was that I had to send it in and they would update it. It has a service USB but nope.
T+A PA 3100 HV owners question Everybody seems to get different results from upgraded power cables. What I noticed is most of the changes come in the higher frequencies. Much more open and transparent on the treble side, not so much difference elsewhere.
Verity Audio speaker manufacturer silent... Never liked seeing a long running business go down. I ran my family business which started in 1913 until retirement in 2019. Passed it on to the next generation successfully on hope it works out for them. By the way, my first speakers were from...
Axpona 2024 who is going and why? I went to Axpona a couple years ago. The best sounding speakers there had minimal room interaction. Hotel rooms are too small for most speakers.
FAKE NEWS - NEGATIVE REVIEWS NOT ALLOWED!! I have read an editors comment saying if he didn't like or wouldn't recommend it, they wouldn't print the review. [For whatever that is worth].
The receiver was my intro to HiFi! What say you? 1975 Kenwood, 45 wpc, wood veneer sides. Great tuner. Used it 20 years. My son has it now.
Loud pop/screech when powering on amp Maybe it only looked like it was in "pristine" condition.
Are You A Disciplined Audiophile? It's both. Some pieces hardly need break in time. Meaning I can't tell it sounds better after 100 or more hours. But, I have some interconnects that sounded horrible for about 200 hours and then BOOM! Everything changed in one day.
Streamer only @gkelly. +2. Someone running Levinson electronics should buy something better grade. Lumin, Innuous or comparable or you will be upgrading soon.
Sota Sapphire and Isolation? Thorens makes an isolation pad made with layers of some kind of foam. Check it out, it's only a couple hundred bucks.
Speakers, speaker cables or I’m getting old… You don't state your age, but I noticed that sometime in my mid-sixties, really loud music, especially live bands in bars, was offensive to my ears. Could not stay in there. Tinnitus was developing. I still get great pleasure from my home setup...
Qualities Of An End-game System I applaud Mahgister for being happy with with his low cost system. Most of us keep throwing money at ours with small incremental upgrades. [myself included.] Theoretically, what more do we need besides the enjoyment of music? The other side ...
Example of a piece o’ crap, useless review I will read them because I like hearing about new products on the market, but would not buy something without a demo in a store or at a trade show. To me, the music reviews are the worst.
Qobuz vs. Tidal Qobuz needs no customer service. It's your app for the streamer that might be your problem. CD's have a slight edge in SQ compared to Qobuz streams played through the same DAC. In a blind test you are hard pressed to tell the difference.
Planar Speakers and Diffusors Planars do need to be toed in perhaps a bit more to get that sweet spot. Mine are toed in so they cross a few inches in front of me. Plus that eliminates them from directly reflecting off the wall in back of them. Cannot tell you about diffuser... |
