Upsetting story looking for a solution
With some patience you might see if anyone from Magico qualilfied to do the work will be in the area any time soon.  For the cost of materials and a nice dinner, perhaps you could arrange an in-home repair.  Worth an email to Magico, I think.
Obscure bands
astro58go:  I just heard Julie Ruin this weekend on a great web radio station (maybe we're listening to the same station?).  Totally awesome!
What's the most overrated or overpriced piece of equipment you own, have owned or come by?
2psyop: Sorry you had such issues with Odyssey Audio. I purchased a Stratos HT3 from Klaus (actually a one-off with new circuit boards for the L/R channels and an old board for the center channel) with cap upgrade following a little negotiating at...

infection - If you refer to my highly opinionated statement regarding "Cookie Monster" vocals, I was attempting to state that such vocal affectations remove, for me, any semblance of genuine emotion from a performance.  If you enjoy such vocals, m...
Speaker Recommendation Needed
I also found the LS50's to be a bit overly bright sounding, so maybe that's your ticket.  The only other speakers on the list I have heard are the Monitor Audios and other Zu Audio models.  I was pleasantly surprised by the Monitor Audios, and the...
Best type of Sub to consider?
I know you're not looking for brand recommendations, but few subwoofers are designed intentionally to be placed in corners, as you want to.  I, too, place my two subwoofers in the front two corners of my room.  They are down-firing through a slot....
Review: Ohm Acoustics Ohm Walsh 2000 Speaker
christian - Even though I have both a phone app and SPL meter, I haven't measured the SPL of a louder listening session.  But I would think that my louder sessions are in the 85-90 dB range.  If your amp can handle it without clipping, and the Wal...
I'm ready to pull the trigger on some new speakers.looking for some last minute advice
Of the speakers you listed, I have only heard Golden Ears (Triton 3, but similar to the 2+), and IIRC, the Revels. The Revels were very good, but I loved the sound of the GE’s folded ribbon tweet. Smooth and clean. I doubt you will ever experience...
Sanders magtech or odyssey kismet
FWIW, I have had my Odyssey Audio Stratos HT3 for just about 10 years now. When it was new, a capacitor failed, and it was repaired under warranty. However, I had to pay for the frieght (one way, IIRC), which for a 64 lb. amp is not insignificant....

slaw - The Thermals are great!  I have 2 or 3 of their CDs.
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
I will restate what I said before: The magic of the Ohms, whether walsh designs or not, is from John Strohbeen’s skill in voicing loudspeakers. While there are times I wonder about modding my 2000s (cabinet bracing, upgrading tweeter, etc.), I am ...

yup, nothing says "I'm a pretentious loser metal poser" like cookie monster vocals!
Obscure bands
Ooh!  Ooh!  I just remembered - band called Tribe.  (Not Tribe called Quest or anything else, just Tribe.)  Great Boston area alt band from the 90s with excellent female vocals and great song writing skills.  AFAIK, only two CDs were released.
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
sudont:  I also thought I might have been hearing the cabinets "sing" in the lower mids.  The cabinets of my 2000s do vibrate.  But I think I was actually hearing the hollow body of instruments like acoustic guitars, cellos, etc.  I would bet that...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
sudont: Welcome to the thread and to the world of Ohm. I was very interested about your comments regarding the Hiel folded ribbon tweets vs. Ohm. I have yet to hear a folded ribbon tweeter that I didn't like. But, and this is key, the Walsh driver...
