Sweet Vinyl Sugarcube - I Want It!!!
Ok, I just had to post this... I am finally able to digitize vinyl at 96/24 using my Sweetvinyl SugarCube SC-2 and play it back from my server. I am listening to Sting's LP "Nothing Like the Sun" that I digitized from a pretty clean double ...

Ok, I just had to post this...  I am finally able to digitize vinyl at 96/24 using my Sweetvinyl SugarCube SC-2 and play it back from my server.  I am listening to Sting's LP "Nothing Like the Sun"  that I digitized from a pretty clean double LP, ...
Sweet Vinyl Sugarcube - I Want It!!!
A long overdue update:First, having been unable to coordinate a meeting with Leo of SweetVinyl for the firmware update, SweetVinyl graciously offered to have my SC-2 shipped out to them and returned it with the update.  Light-show issues solved.An...
What are the best speakers you have ever owned and why?
Advent New Large Utility, JBL towers (mid 80's), Vandersteen 1C, to my current and final Ohm Walsh 2000.  Short of winning the lottery, they stay.  They do almost everything right (my review is posted here in review section).  Not the best speaker...
Are manufacturers having discussions removed from Audiogon if they turn negative?
I think it's valuable to expose poor workmanship or service from a company, just as it's important to praise good workmanship and service where appropriate.  Just keep it honest, civil, and don't use it as a substitute for dealing directly with th...
Streamer recommendations for dummies.
Any thoughts on the Pro-Ject box series?  I think there are low priced streaming models.  I like the idea of the Node, but I have a good 96/24 DAC, and I wish there was an affordable streaming DAC with a better DAC section and good user interface ...
Ownership and Review of a pair of Ohm Super Sound Cylinder
Having paired my 2000s with a pair of Vandersteen 2Wq subs (with battery-biased crossovers) since I got the Ohm's, I can fully agree with craigsub that adding powered subs to Ohm's, if done properly, takes the Ohms to a whole new level.  Go for it!
Ownership and Review of a pair of Ohm Super Sound Cylinder
@djones  - As a happy 2000 owner for 9 years, I expect you will enjoy your new speakers.  But please let them break in as per Ohm's instructions.  And while they work well with a wide range of electronics, they will respond well to improvements in...
What’s a 10k to 15k speaker from smaller company that performs well?
Ohm Walsh 5015
Capitol Audio Fest and the New York Audio a trend is emmerging
My preamp alone retails for more than my speakers.  It's about performance and synergy, not price tags, IMHO.
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
@mlsstl - Thanks.  My TV is a heavy plasma mounted to the wall.   I don't think there is much room for sound to bounce around behind it.
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
@mlsstl Please tell me your TV is on a stand a ways in front of the wall behind it.  If it is wall mounted, I will not be able to have any peace of mind until I try what you did, even though I don't have any stridency issues.  Thanks for the updat...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
@mslstl:. Glad to hear you are enjoying your 1000s.  I doubt they are anywhere near broken in yet.  Be aware that things may get worse before getting even better.  I find that poor recordings are quite listenable on my 2000s, even if they are expo...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
@djones51:. although I don’t use it in stereo, my 2 channel system is integrated into my home theater system. In multichannel listening, I use a Pioneer receiver with MCACC. I have not had any issues with this and my Ohms. Except for the subs and ...
Vinyl recordings - best methods
@o_holter - Horses for courses, as they say.  I find my Ortofon is plenty good for most rock and pop recordings.  I use the Denon for better recordings, classical and well-recorded jazz.  I save the wear on the Denon when the quality of the LP isn...
