Bublé's Louisville Concert 6/4/11
The ladies love him, but he is not a very good vocalist. He is pretty much the Bing Crosby of today musically speaking.
RIP Gil Scott-Heron
After reading a profile of him in a New Yorker, I was moved and intrigued. I got his latest CD and have to say it is unlike any other--part music, part commentary. His was a sad case really.
Pink Floyd in HI REZ......finally
Whoohooo! I know what I'm getting for Xmas.

Michael,Here's the link to the stands I think work well, and they are not bad for $100 shipped. I have them and have been very pleased: http://www.racksandstands.com/VTI-RF-VI1049.html?cv=

I believe the original stands built for the BC1s and SP1/2s were to allow for the first floor wave off the driver, but most I have seen use taller stands to get the image up. I use 19" VCI stands with my new (used) SP1/2s, and my ears are precisel...
How does one get off the merry-go-round?
Buy a pair of Spendor 1/2s...seriously.
Band with highest success/talent ratio?
Whoa, Snofun3. Stevie Nicks has an incredible voice that is wholly unique, pitch perfect, and can move an audience. And Rush? Their live shows are unbelievable, really. I encourage you to read Neil Peart's books as well...his lyrics are not inane....
British sound???
Just listening to my newly acquired Spendor 1/2s, and the British sound can be summed up with one word: Good.
Need help with Jazz
Natalie Cole's "Unforgettable" is a GREAT album...every song is a winner w/good sonics. Also, I'm a big fan of Rosemary Clooney's songs recorded in her prime (that is in her older years). Concord has some good stuff of hers, and the Concord engine...

Zmanastronomy,"Affended"? Have a dick-tionary the next time you apologize.
Power regenerator/battery backup
I second the APC S-Series. I've had the S10 for a couple of months and could not be more pleased. They are also affordable for those of us who don't make very much. I will never plug my Quicksilvers into the wall again.
Replace vintage NAD 7020?
Grab any NAD from the late 80s or early 90s (3225PE, 7225PE, etc), and they're wonderful sounding. I still love and use my 7225PE I bought new in 1991 when I was a junior in high school, and it sounds damn fine w/anything from NIN to Mozart.

I can't understand what Clark "Mumbles" Terry says
Seriously, Clark Terry is my favorite trumpet player. Check out "Friendship," his release with Max Roach...excellent.
I can't understand what Clark "Mumbles" Terry says
Bizango,For years I could not understand "Mumbles" either...until I found CryoFuse fuse elevators. You place them between your AC outlet and components. They take the mumbles right out of Mumbles. They're AWESOME!!!!!
