bryston 14b or M Fidelity nu-vista m3 Miked, have you heard either of these preamps/amps on these speakers? If not why are you posting? I have heard both these combinations and can say IMHO that the M3 will "smoke" the Wakonda/14bst combo.P.S. In no way did I equate that warmer is not...
bryston 14b or M Fidelity nu-vista m3 The M3 will smoke the Wakonda/14bst combination. More open, dynamic, smoother cleaner highs and more detailed low end are the hallmarks of this great integrated. The only other integrated that can come close is the $6500 Mark Levinson 383. It will...
Best low budget speaker cable? HELP Try Tara Labs Klara, a stranded copper wire at $.79 ft, or the solid core Omni wire at $1 ft. They are great budget cables.

Krell vs. Plinius My taste would favor the KAV-300il over the Plinius but if you listen to records the 8200 does have a phono stage. The Krell can sound a little "grey" at times and the Plinius can be a bit tilted forward in the top end. If it was my money, I would...
Pass 600 Monos vs Krell 350 monos B&W actually use a range of amps to voice their speakers including Mark Levinson 33s and a Classe Omega. They don't use FPB650s exclusively.P.S. The Pass X600s get my vote.
ML No 383 to ML Nos 380S & 335 Upgrade your 39 to the 390s and I think you will get more of what you're looking for.
any info on musical fidelity nu-vista m3 I have the Linn Genki and the N803s so I am pretty familiar with the sound you have. I would highly recommend the M3 or the Mark Levinson 383 integrated to keep the warmth of the Linn system but to dramatically increase the resolution, bass contro...
Stylus Cleaners: A magnet for Dust? That sounds odd, it might be that in a dry environment static electricity is attracing dust to the records. I use LP#9 stylus cleaner and have had no such problems.
Any comments on the Meridian 588 CD Player? Newton, do you work for Meridian? We compared the 588 against the 508-24, Krell KPS-28, Linn Ikemi and Levinson 39 on the Dynaudio Tempation speakers powered by Krell FPB350mc amps and a KCT preamp. The 588 was the most most colored of the bunch w...
Cheapest Analogue Setup to Conquer Best Digital A $4K VPI TNT Junior/SME 309 may not be the cheapest analog setup but the $20K Linn CD12 can't keep up with it. The only difficulty with vinyl is that it is VERY dependent on the pressing, but in most circumstances a decent pressing vs. the CD ver...
Simply Vinyl...why the bum rap? As far as I know the main issue is that they don't disclose where they get the source material for their releases. Is it a digital remaster or is it a analog original? The two releases I have, Nick Drake "Pink Moon" and Tom Waits "Swordfishtrombon...
Any comments on the Meridian 588 CD Player? The 508-24 sounds quite a bit better than the newer 588. I heard them head-to-head on a very revealing system and all of us who were listening thought the 588 sounded overly bright and had an odd mid-bass hump. The 508-24 on the other hand sounded...
What is your vote for best bookshelf speaker ? The Guaneri Homage is the most amazing small speaker I have ever heard. The B&W Silver Signatures were also a very special speaker but I have only heard about half of the speakers on your list.
Aerial vs B&W vs Dynaudio vs Silverline The Dynaudios are great speakers but will probably not be a good match for your Linn 5140 as they really require a powerful, high-current amp to come alive. They can sound a tad soft and dull on Linn amps (klimax excepted!). You might want to look... |
