Advice on stand mounting, please
Blu-Tack is an adhesive putty that works quite well, it makes a strong bond but won't wreck the finish of the speaker. I'd prefer lead shot to fill the stands mainly because it is less messy. Hope this helps.
BW Nautilus 802, blow away Nautilus 803
For Viggen - The crossover points are 350Hz and 4kHz on the N802/N803.
BW Nautilus 802, blow away Nautilus 803
Doug, you're kidding right??? I can just walk into my living room and put my ear up to the eight inch drivers to prove that sound does indeed come out of them. The midrange, not midbass as you refer to it, driver does not put out any bass. One exp...

Doug, Doug, Doug...the two 8" drivers on the N802 are NOT "subs"; they actually cover a large portion of the midrange. These drivers are crossed over at 350Hz so if you think anything below this is sub bass maybe you need to redefine what you thin...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but Doug99, you have no idea what you are talking about. This is not a matter of opinion because there is so much incorrect with your post I would not know where to begin if I was to reply to every point. Let ...
AES/EBU S/PDIF
In case anybody is wondering...it works. We tried it with a Proceed MDT to an AVP with a XLR to RCA adaptor using a 75 ohm digital cable.

I'd have to say (in no particular order):-Saul Marantz-Nelson Pass-John Bowers-Ivor Tiefenbrun-Frank McIntosh/Gordon Gow
Musical Fidelity A3CD
I would like to see the MF stuff available sans gold also. It can look pretty gaudy next to most components.
AES/EBU S/PDIF
I don't own the units, just to clarify, and I would never try to do this. I was explaining to my coworker to not order a custom XLR to RCA digital cable for this purpose because it would expensive failure. He insists that it will work, it might no...
Effects of protection disks under spikes
First, yes you are thinking about this stuff too much and second why don't you try them out and give them a listen?
B&W Nautilus Tweeter Grills - Lose 'em
B&W voices their Nautilus speakers with the tweeter grills on so they do not recommended that they are removed. Also, as a previous poster said, the metal diaphram is very fragile and can easily dent if prodded. The entry-level 300 and 600 ser...
AES/EBU S/PDIF
For Genesis168 - AES/EBU is actually 5V not 3.5V and there is a margin of error of +/- 20% for the 110ohm AES connection and the S/PDIF allows +/- 5% margin of error.P.S. The transport ONLY has AES/EBU, the burner has ONLY RCA S/PIDF. Anybody who ...
"All-in-one box system" that is High End
Magnum Dynalab MD-208. 'Nuff said.
Transport for HDCD
Transports just output the raw digital 16 bit data that is every redbook CD. The DAC is the unit that would have 16/18/20 or 24 bit resolution and it would also have to do the HDCD decoding.
Bit perfect copies
Previous poster - chances are that your computer had a program running in the background that taxed the pc's memory. Try burning discs with all other applications shut down and there should be no pops or clicks. Data CD-Rs just don't pay royalties...
