Doubling a Set of Speaker Cables
No, I haven't done double runs myself gdhal. Paul at Clear Day recommends his Single cable for high impedance/sensitivity speakers, Shotgun for medium, and Double Shotgun for low. I went straight for the Double Shotgun version of the Clear Day spe...
My final table , hopefully !
Hear here ketto! The Rock has never caught on in the States as it has in the UK, where it is considered a reference. The Rock addresses several turntable design considerations in a novel and unique way, providing sound reproduction from LP's like ...
Song covers that are better than the originals
I have played with a lot of guitarists who, of course, love Jimi’s playing, and one bassist who holds Jimi in as high esteem as John Coltrane! I freely admit I have never understood, nor had the sensibilities to appreciate, most Jazz. It is a fore...
Tinnitus remedy?
I didn't starting drinking coffee 'til I was 29, but made up for lost time. I got hooked by a guitarist I was playing with, but he had nothing to do with my tinnitus. He played (R.I.P.) a Telecaster into a '65 blackface Deluxe Reverb! Thanks for th...
Doubling a Set of Speaker Cables
There is a good way to test the theory yourself. Clear Day offers speaker cables in single runs, double runs (x2), and shotgun double runs (x4). You may try them all out, returning and not paying for what you do not wish to keep.
Song covers that are better than the originals
Speaking of The Who, they were (past tense) masters at the art of creating and releasing energy. They are by far the most dynamic band I’ve ever seen, absolutely bristling with kinetic energy. The song "I Can See For Miles" was their high water ma...

Good point ghosthouse. Vinnie is RIDICULOUS! Jeff can afford the best now (Vinnie is expensive). But I don’t consider myself on Mt. Olympus, any more than anyone else. I always qualify my opinion as personal, mine acknowledged as not infrequently ...
Tinnitus remedy?

What happened with "Superstition" is that Jeff somehow heard the song, and asked Stevie if he could record and put out his version first. Jeff says Stevie agreed, but then put out his own before Jeff could. Jeff was very not happy. Perhaps when St...
Tinnitus remedy?
I'll say jond! Mine seems to be worse lately, but I've been drinking a lot of coffee.
A nice read on tubes!
I've had both a Scott 299 and Fisher X-100, and neither comes anywhere close to the sound quality of my current EAR and Music Reference electronics. Nostalgia is swell, but come on!

Dave Edmunds’ electrifying reinvention of Smiley Lewis’ "I Hear You Knocking".
Song covers that are better than the originals
I am hesitant to comment on Harold’s post, but sheesh!Hendrix not only turns a beautiful, subtle, personal prayer into a crass display of vulgar guitar pyrotechnics (okay, I admit to not caring for Jimi’s playing. I know, a minority opinion), but ...

My post partially quoted by Cleeds was removed because I used a bad word. Here it is with a less naughty word substituted. That's it Loomis---The E Street Band doesn't swing! Look at the drummer; he sits straight up, like the stick (no pun intended...
