Found the thread Bill, did a post. Hope it wasn't too long-winded!
ASC tube trap full round with dark and light sides - diffusing vs absorbing
Ah ha, okay. Were the two-color traps a limited time offering? I’ve never seen even a photo of one. I'll be setting mine back up again soon---I'll have to give them a call myself to find out what the seam side is.

Sure would Bill, I’ll get over there and find it. I gotta include that Forum in my daily routine; I’m not a regular like I should be. I met Steve in the Tower Records in Sherman Oaks in the mid-90’s, and arranged to interview him for Mike Fremer (...

Oh, it is Ghost! Thanks again everybody, the research continues. Thanks for the invite FF; I'm actually just across the border in Vancouver, Washington. A nice, quiet, all-residential single-family home neighborhood---no light industry or other no...
ASC tube trap full round with dark and light sides - diffusing vs absorbing
I've never seen or even heard of half & half colored ASC tube traps, but I do know that the reflective versus absorptive side can be identified by the location of the seam. One or the other is centered on the seam, but I don't remember which. ...

Have you compared the Gold Lion reissue KT-88 vs. the Treasure?

Great, thanks fellas. Your insights and referrals have given me a good start. So far I have concluded to proceed thusly:- Verify the availability of empty spaces on the electrical panel (there is no sub-panel; it's just a moderately-sized three be...

Oh, and if there is a particular high performance-to-price ratio AC outlet anyone wants to recommend, be my guest. I'm open to having my skepticism regarding them dissuaded ;-).
Any vocals that you like?
The Everly Brothers Cadence and early Warner Brothers recordings (on Ace Records, a great UK company) and Roy Orbison's Monument stuff. Great voices, great songs, fantastic production and sound!
What's in your CDP tonight? the minority report
Agreed Loomis, about Kontiki. The cover of Emitt’s new one disturbs me; what’s with the crying face?! He’s a pretty miserable guy (his original contract, ex-wives), but c’mon, that’s no way to present him! I listened to the samples of it on Amazon...
Creating space between interconnects & keeping cables off the floor
Not meaning to hijack the thread, but since you're all here already ;-):I'm about to setup in a new room, and will need to run my speaker cables across the space I need to be able to walk through to get to my LP and CD racks. To protect them from ...
Martin Logan Vista spks versus Maggie 1.7 speakers. Best speaker for medium size room??
Yeah, that's a problem for a lot of us! The thing is, a lot of good box speakers also need to be away from walls and corners, though perhaps not as far as planars.
Getting Personal Property Insurance for your rig.
If your policy DOES cover LP's, get an appraisal of your collection by a local rare record dealer in writing.
Martin Logan Vista spks versus Maggie 1.7 speakers. Best speaker for medium size room??
Jim, Brooks Berdan Ltd. is an Eminent Technology dealer, and last time I was there they had a pair of LFT-8b to listen to. Some people prefer it to the 1.7, roughly the same price. The ET features push-pull design as opposed to the single ended 1....
SVS or Velodyne
Those Salk built Rythmiks are great. You can also buy the DIY F15 kit and build an enclosure yourself, bracing the hell out of it as does Jim. The Salk wood finishes are really beautiful.
