Request for a recommendation on a small footprint floor standing speaker
Totem Sttaf are great in that room size and for your music preferences. They have a tiny footprint with big bass.
Fix for B&K Component Reference 20
I doubt I would bother repairing it (it would depend on what it’s doing). There are lots of used B&K processors on the market in working condition, as well as other brands that may be superior to the ref 20 and for prices in the range of the r...
Favorite Guitar Solo
Duane Allman on Boz Scaggs’ “Loan Me a Dime”.
Favorite Cowboy Junkies?
Pretty much all of their albums are great, and I think I have all of them. “Lay it Down” and “Renmin Park” are up there on the rotation though.
Any good experience in discovering new music via TV or movie recently ?
Horace Tapscott on Bosch.  I queued up his stuff on Spotify and listened for 3 straight hours - fantastic.
Jazz newbie
I’ll add a few here to get this on my radar.Miles Davis everything, but Sketches of Spain, Bitches Brew, in addition to KoB.I’m not fond of  Coltrane, but Ben Webster - anything, and Dexter Gordon - Round Midnight, and The Other side of Round Midn...
Musical Concepts modification of B&K pre and amp?
I went through a similar process about 8-9 years ago with my B&K m200 Sonata mono blocks. I ended up having them upgraded, and still love them to this day.  That said, I honestly can’t say whether I would do it again, but what I can say is it ...
Suggest one obsure album we all should hear
There’s a lot mentioned here that I don’t consider obscure at all, so maybe my 2 also aren’t obscure. But, here you go:Philip Catherine “Nairam”Beaver and Krause “All Good Men”
Which speakers did you find bright, fatiguing or just disappointing in some way?
@whipsaw - I bought the Europe’s after reading all of the rave reviews. All I can say is every other speaker I placed in that room didn’t sound harsh and fatiguing as the Europe’s did. I guess I needed to power them with a Rowland amp, not Conrad-...
Which speakers did you find bright, fatiguing or just disappointing in some way?
Green Mount Audio Europa. Bright and fatiguing describes the perfectly.
Connecting Bluesound Node 2i to remote stereo system over WIFI -
@melvinjames - thanks - that answers the short question.  I have swapped out to a different bluetooth receiver and will see if it performs better (on the theory the issue isn't in the Node 2i).  I also spotted a long range bluetooth receiver that ...
Connecting Bluesound Node 2i to remote stereo system over WIFI -
My node 2i sits next to my router and is connected via Ethernet, not WiFi. What I’m trying to do is broadcast to a remote room system. The Bluetooth connection from the node works, and sounds fine (for my purposes), but it drops the connection fro...
Connecting Bluesound Node 2i to remote stereo system over WIFI -
Dougsat, you're right. The adapter you referenced is possibly better, but you have to have a sender attached at the node2i end. I was hoping the node2i could broadcast over wifi, then I only need a wifi receiver (with a day built in)  touched to m...
would like suggestions on how much to ask for 1955 Magnavox system
I think you’ll likely have an easier time selling if you part it out. No one wants consoles, unless they’re free or near free (then they take them apart for the components). The magnavox stereo tube amps are easy to sell, and depending on the mode...
