Do you have ways to ease use of vinyl? @pgaulke60I like the 90 degree angle elbows height best. It is 43" for me. Since my TT is at 40", I'm buying a 3" butcher block to put under it. Always wanted to do that anyway. Thanks for all the suggestions everybody. Fun post indeed, no one ins...
Do you have ways to ease use of vinyl? You can see the 3 lights setup on top of my TT in my house of stereo system. I love its convenience.
Do you have ways to ease use of vinyl? Unfortunately, with my wife having worked in a hospital most of her working life, I have seen way too many doctors. The primary every 6 months and currently seeing specialists for the ears, dry eyes and dermatologist. At least I haven't had to see...
Do you have ways to ease use of vinyl? The problem for me with having it at chest high is having to lift up my arms to do the flipping. My shoulders are so messed up with arthritis, it makes it another problem. Bellybutton high is perfect for me, body straight, arms naturally down with...
Do you have ways to ease use of vinyl? @melmImaginative setup. My ring is a canadian Audio TTW, it is extremely thin over the record and is advertised as not hurting the stylus if accidentally dropped on it. Not going to test it but had it for about three years and never had an issue w...
Do you have ways to ease use of vinyl? @jjss49That Thorens rig is something else. Wouldn't trust any of my records to it though lol. But definitely a good point about making flipping vinyl easier.

How loud are you typically listening? Tip: Since high frequencies are more harmful to hearing than low ones, I found out that making my subs more prominent in my system helps in giving me a fuller sound.
How loud are you typically listening? Some of the newest sound level charts say below 70 db is the best way to avoid hearing damage. But there are many that will say 75 db, and some will even say up to 80 db is safe for up to 8 hrs. I figure 75 db is a good medium for safe hearing and...
How loud are you typically listening? 70 to 75 db. For the last record of a session, may bring it up to 80 db. I developed tinnitus two summers ago at a Humphrey's McGee concert at Red Rocks that lasted 4 hours. Killer monster sound, but for too long. Have been careful ever since.
More Power Part II I would love to have arcticdeth's hearing and be able to listen to music at his sound levels. To be young again...
amazing video about listening, in a very special heartfelt way. Talk about putting things in perspective! Many here including I can hopefully take a dose of humility out of this. Just what this site needs. Thanks Mike for sharing.
If you had access to a time machine, what concerts would you go back to see? Jimi Hendrix, woodstock.
Straight out of the box doesn't work. I don't know how the 400 works, but on my 100, a red light will come on when powering it and will stay on for a full minute, then will turn green, meaning it's ready to use. It is clearly described in the owner's manual. Hopefully that's all it is. |
