Ps audio aspen FR 30 Loudspeakers My 2 cents about PS Audio. Absolutely love my Stellar phono pre-amp, but returned both the BHK signature preamp and the perfect wave CD transport. So much for synergy lol.
Is it ok to stack LPs horizontally? @bdp24 Thanks for the tip. Since I have fairly sizable empty space in each of my 41 shelves (I always have more shelves than I need so I can keep adding records), instead of the inner cardboard, I just bought 50 reinforced 2" wide vinyl cardboar...
Vinyl Repair? We are obviously all a little crazy. On a couple occasions I went as far as using a thin threading needle to get rid of a skip. It worked on one album but also destroyed a song on an original very expensive NIN The fragile triple album. Ended up b...
Can a great system make a mediocre recording sound good? +1 @gosta Well said, my experience exactly.
Pink Floyd’s brand new song I'll take ori71's word in his first post: It's in Ukrainian. Only wish Waters was on the bass. Oh well, that ship has long sailed.
Can a great system make a mediocre recording sound good? My current house of stereo system makes every record sound better. Whether they are well or poorly engineered/mastered. Across the board, all sound better than they did with my older systems in various rooms. I must have done something right this ...
Cartridge Loading.....Part II Just to share: my Lyra Kleos sounds best anywhere between 60 to 500 ohms depending on recordings (overly dark ones at 500, overly bright ones at 60 and 400 for most, that's why I love the PS audio stellar phono preamp with its instant ohms adjustm...
I wonder what you would think if we scheduled a monthly Zoom Meeting? I think I'll listen to some music instead.
Why do folks spend more on electronics than on speakers? Electronics 60% Speakers 40% Reasonable allocation of funds giving priority to speakers considering the vast amount of electronics in my separates system that features both digital and analog ends.
Do you spend more time analyzing the sound of your system, worrying it could be better? Not lately. It must sound REAL good! But I only got here because I did obsess over sound for a couple of years on this particular house of stereo system of mine. It was all worth it. I have to say my listening sessions are much more satisfying n...
Fedex and Ups Damage thread Insuring the package for a hefty sum will deter the company from mishandling it. Never had an audio component sent or received damaged.
Best double live vinyl? Little Feat, Waiting for Columbus. Not only a great concert but arguably one of the better ever recorded one. Try to find the 1979 MSFL copy! And 👎on all 1/4, 2/3 doubles, so many back then...
Jay, cdt2 Enough said, buying a Jay's from anyone other than Alvin is foolish. Not the original product, not Jay's warranty.
Limited soundstage between speakers I remember a member saying in a well acoustically treated room the speakers should not require any toe-in regardless of their design. My setup proves he was dead on correct.
Speaker positioning: why do audiophiles neglect this so much? Same with acoustic treatment, probably only 10% of audiophiles pay it attention. |
