Music Direct and my recent exoeriences
Two bad experiences with Audio Advisor, inexcusable ones. Not any issues with music direct.
If there’s an audiophile exit ramp, this ain’t it…
This discussion is in need of some serious psychological advice before anyone sinks any further into the deep end 🙂
Fidelity vs. Musicality...........Is there a tug of War?
Musicality to me is when my system draws me  unconsciously into the music rather than me trying to decipher all the little parts of the sound I am striving for.  That is the best feeling when you realize you have been totally engulfed into the mus...
Advice on dedicated room
You can take a look at my system in my house of stereo. It includes construction pics and details in the comments section that may be helpful to you. Have fun with the process. Be patient.
Upgrade my CD player or futile effort?
The Denafrips Ares II came in early! Got it yesterday noon. Spent a few hours testing it out with my Marantz CD6005. Here are my impressions:First off, the CD6005 needs to have the audio EX setting OFF. I had it on audio EX 2 and no sound came out...
Upgrade my CD player or futile effort?
@pindac, I really appreciate your detailed journey regarding CDs.It does point to me that digital can be a plus to anyone if done correctly, even to those who's systems are strictly analog vinyl. Way to keep an opened mind!
Upgrade my CD player or futile effort?
No computer/wifi in my dedicated listening house, and intend to keep it that way. But I hear the ones who swear by streaming. Different strokes for different folks. Or more simply, different pace of living. Music to me is not a technology miracle,...

Is bass the most important frequency band?
I look at it this way, low frequencies are less harmful to your hearing than high frequencies. That's why the majority of people lose some of their upper frequency hearing as they age. Hence, at 67, I favor bass. A little more bass, less treble, I...
why do so many discussions turn contentious?
Ignore the trolls, believe me, it works. Drives them nuts.
Upgrade my CD player or futile effort?
The Denafrips Ares II was shipped yesterday. Will report on sound with the Marantz CD6005. The combo may be so pleasing I may not need to look at a transport. If so it would probably be the Audiolab 6000 CDT.
why do so many discussions turn contentious?
This thread is good for right now, people are paying attention to it today. But most will move on to the next subject tomorrow. That's the current level of attention nowadays. I do hope it works long term but I wouldn't count on it. Just ignore th...
