After the thrill is gone Serjio says "if you had PBN Montana ref speakers + the right room, your search would be over." I guess I am done because that's exactly what I got! See house of stereo system. Love the dynamics of the PBN. I need all the dynamics I can get for th...
Qobuz or Apple Music? Different day, same results, most prefer Qobuz. I will repeat that Q on $12.99 plan sounds flat to me, no depth. Tidal on $9.99 plan has so much more depth, not even close. Also a little wider soundstage. So I had both and dumped Q. Can't talk of...
How Audiphiles are Different It only makes sense. It's the same in life with everything. Everybody prefers different things. Nobody is the same. Hence we are called individuals. And I am grateful for that. How sad would the world be if we were all alike. My system sounds best...
Small Form-Factor CD Player/Transport Caution: If looking to go I2s connection, not all are compatible. Had to return the PS Audio CD transport which was not compatible with the Gustard x26 pro dac.
STREAMING - QOBUZ VS TIDAL AND ROON'S PREFERENCES I am going to differ from many here. On my setup, tidal $9.99 hifi sounds better than qobuz $12.99 plan. It gives me way more depth and a little more width in soundstage. Can't speak of Tidal MQA or qobuz upper plan since they are not feasible on ...
Analog vs. digital Vinyl vs. CD on my system is a toss up depending on record. Slightly different presentation, both fully satisfying. Streaming a grade below because I do it from android cell phone via wifi on tidal hifi due to lack of computer in house of stereo s...
Turn down the Volume! Between 70 and 80 db for me. Anything less or more won't be pleasurable to my ears.

Nordost Cable Listed in Order of Importance I think it would largely depend on the quality of power in your listening room. In my case, where I have a dedicated power line in a separate building from the main house, upgrading power cords made no significant improvements. So for my specific ...
low bass response And of course your room layout is not very good to be frank as pointed out by many. All I will say about that is take a look at my system and you will see how much I put in the value of equipment placement and room acoustics. Obviously you can aff...
low bass response Dual subs would be a good start to more bass. I just saw your TT, a thing of beauty. Just can't figure out why it would be hidden in an armoire. I would custom build a clear cover and display it ALWAYS. Just me.
What is your record cleaning regimen? Everybody knows WD-40 attracts dirt. Use a teflon base lubricant instead!
A Beginner's Guide to Audiophile Is there an Audiophile for dummies book out yet? That would be a fun and educational way to start.
33rpm vs 45rpm - which is better 45 LPs don't do it for me because normal sides are cut in half and usually better sounding LPs are originals, not recent remasters. I have a few but don't play them very often at all even if they may sound better, which is debatable.
Check this out, if you already haven't. And I thought I had a lot of stuff LOL |
