When someone listens to your system for the first time.
Thanks for the posting a system instructions MC.
When someone listens to your system for the first time.
Half of the people posting about their system on this page don't have their system listed. That always amazes me. Please share your systems, it's the only way to know you a little. The rest is just words.
Noise floors
Glass half empty, glass half full, count me in for the latter.
Noise floors
Glad I have tinnitus, no more worries about that remaining noise you can't eliminate, it will always be there anyway 🙂
Noise floors
I no longer experience noise. Whisper quiet split AC unit verses central air duct. Triple pane 4" thick windows. 3" thick solid wood door, sound proof walls and ceiling construction on concrete floor. I see the outdoors but never hear it. Even con...

Where do you put your money?
Glad to see most have kept a good sense of humor about this one.  Obviously a difficult subject to approach and evaluate. However it's obvious that there are as many ways to approach this hobby as there are people. Of course my numbers seem skewed...
Where do you put your money?

Spring-Loaded Screw Turns Drywall Into Sound-Absorbing Panels
@emailists You are correct, the install was probably not done properly. In my slightly over 2700 cubic feet listening room, we used 71 large cartridges of green glue and 21 of sealant. For those who think quietrock is expensive, think again. Conve...

Double 5/8" sheetrock with green glue sandwiched in the middle. Proven technology. Install it on offset studs or resilient channels with sound isolation clips and that's a good start.
What is the most important component to consider while building a new system?
Money is the most important part of a system.
Should I switch to a larger room?
Bigger is better.
A full range speaker?
My newly acquired PBN Montana XPS speakers have an in room rating of 25 hz to 22 khz, pretty full range to me. However I do back them up with dual Rythmick F12 subs. Never enough bass!
Analog Upgrade - Where to start?
Depending on your setting, diffusers will brighten up the sound a whole bunch specially if you only have absorbers. Sometimes it's not the equipment, it's the acoustics.
Analog Upgrade - Where to start?
@ OP,I don't see your system listed so I have no clue what you got if any acoustic treatment at all. If you don't, that may be some of the best improvements on your system you can make.On a more general note, anyone who discusses anything here and...
