How important is spending time with your gear?
I very much enjoy looking at my gear while listening to music.  The system is on its own (ground) floor so there is no issue with wires or WAF for that matter.  It's my room and I do as I please in it.  I keep it nice and tidy/clean. BTW my darlin...
How Electricity Actually Works
I would like to say a hearty thanks to all who participated.  Pretty neat that it did not devolve into...well you know. Regards, barts
Best audiophile earwax removal system?
I have suffered for years with excessive ear wax! The best method I have found is a 50/50 mix of the hottest water you can stand, with 70% Hydrogen Peroxide. @boostedis  The solution your suggesting ends up as a 35% solution of Hydrogen Peroxi...

Better sound on rainy days?
As reported by HAM radio operators...the distances their signals travel are  much greater on cloudy days easily traveling to Europe and beyond due to being contained by the clouds. As to cars running better/stronger is because the moist air flash...
How Electricity Actually Works
@rodman99999  Thank you for posting the links.   I have only one theory and that is:  As a species we simply don't know a tenth of a percent about anything. We may know what works and what doesn't but that's about where it ends.  I'm not attemp...
Why Do You Post?
I for one think this forum has plenty of value stored in our collective memory/experiences.   And can only remember one time I had a minor "battle of wits" with MC, but I never throw the first punch.  And so it goes. Just like I confine my readin...
My endgame system I think
@ronboco  Beautiful execution and equipment.  I have one question:  Every surface in the room looks to absorptive, starting with OC "glass" and rock wool sound barrier does the room sound too dead?  Or do the holes in the peg mitigate that aspect...
How Electricity Actually Works
@deludedaudiophile  My take-away as far as audio goes is that proximity of cabling to each other matters.  This is well known and I don't think it is even arguable at this stage of the game. Regards, barts
I don't want to beat a dead horse but I'm bugged.
Many great thoughtful comments above most of which I completely agree with. I will say that I have enjoyed several of the ASR vids.  No, not a fanboy and his overall opinions on sound quality are to be taken with a grain of salt. I don't care wha...
Higher amperage fuse for sound quality
This got me to thinking (always dangerous) about what is the manufacturing tolerance of any given fuse.  Fuses are not perfect, so Googling I go. Turns out that a typical fuse is 90-110% of its published rating. Does anyone know if SR or HFT or w...
Axpona 2022 what impressed you?
@ronboco  I couldn't get to Axpona, but at RMAF 2019 the Goebel speakers were (are) the best speakers I have ever heard.  Totally amazing!  And that was in the largest conference room there which is really big.  If I had a "spare" $280K they wo...
Affordable GaN FET amp from Peachtree Audio
@nonoise  OK, color me curious...How in the world can a GaN amp be fed a digital signal and amplify that signal and have it be an analog output without a D to A conversion taking place?   And if that D to A conversion is taking place (me thinks ...
Fuse Direction for Pass Labs Amp and Preamp
Hi @nonoise  Thank you, that is exactly (and succinctly!) what I was looking for.  I will get an itch to give fusses a go at some point.  I have bigger fish to fry at the moment, as in interconnects.  As you might imagine I have a bunch due to th...
Fuse Direction for Pass Labs Amp and Preamp
@tyray  No, I haven't talked myself out of trying fuses, I just haven't talked myself into trying them.  Partly because the four ARC amps I use to power my tri-amped system have seven fuses each.  So, that's 28 fuses just in the amps. And then an...
