LP12 Hum
I used to own a Naim Supernait 3 and I know that Naim can be a bear with grounding issues.  I had to run a wire from the Supernait's ground to the grounding prong on the plug to make it go away.
Technics 1200G VS VPI Prime Signature
Interesting thread, I too would strongly lean to the Technics given the choice.  I have owned two VPIs--a Scoutmaster (which I hated) and the original Classic (much less hate).  I really didn't like the tonearm on either and recently got out of th...
I believe I experienced great PRAT for the first time
PRAT is like the old definition of pornography, I know it when I see (hear) it.  I agree with many of the comments that you can kill it in the audio chain, but for me, if the source doesn't have it you won't pick it up down the chain.  I slipped a...
Efficient speaker: Zu, Tekton, Volti, Klipsch, Fleetwood?
Greg at Volti used to do a little demo that was based on his work fixing older KHorns.  He would just speak through one of the KHorn assemblies and then speak through one of his versions.  It was a pretty startling comparison, the original sounded...
Efficient speaker: Zu, Tekton, Volti, Klipsch, Fleetwood?
@ladok If you are seriously looking at the Zu stuff, I would use a little caution.  As mentioned elsewhere, people either love them or hate them.  I've only heard them at shows and as much as I want to like them, I never do.  I am going to hear a ...
Fleetwood Sound Company
It's been a while since anyone posted in this thread so I thought an update might be in order.  I have a pair of Volti Audio Rival SEs paired with a Linear Tube Audio Z40 integrated amp in the main part of my basement that I absolutely love, but I...
Efficient speaker: Zu, Tekton, Volti, Klipsch, Fleetwood?
@facten The room is basically 13'x23'.  They will be set up on the short wall about 6' into the room.
Efficient speaker: Zu, Tekton, Volti, Klipsch, Fleetwood?
It all really comes down to personal taste.  I've only heard Zu and Tekton at shows so I don't have much to offer on those.  I've owned Forte IIIs and have upgraded those to Volti Razz and from the Razz to Volti Rivals.  I wrote a quick review for...

If I could afford, I’d purchase 100% Oswald Mills Audio gear
He has some really interesting stuff, and his decision that he would rather sell one thing at $100K rather than ten things at $10K seems to be pretty common these days.  I'm interested in the Fleetwood DeVille's, but I have to admit that his decis...
Ayre Codex (former) Owners, what did you move on to?
I got tired of how wonky the Codex is but am also not a giant believer in spending $5K for a DAC.  I'm using a Border Patrol DAC and a Chord Qutest both of which I like.  I actually put the Chord Hugo in my system and A/B'd with the Ayre which led...
NAD M33 and which speakers?
I have my M33 hooked up to pair of Studio Electric M4's.  Really nice pairing.
What Integrated Amp do You use
Linear Tube Audio Z40 & Naim Supernait 3.  Completely different systems and sounds.
LTA Ultralinear vs SET amps
Like everything else, it depends on the match with the speakers.  That said, I agree with Lance that the LTA is not lean at all.  They all sound different though and for me, the Ultralinear didn't move me, while the Z40 Integrated did.  I also rea...
Fleetwood Sound Company
I don't remember what they were being run with at CAF in 2019 but they were really good there and I also thought they were excellent when I heard them a couple of weeks back.  In that case, the amp was the McGary SA-1 with a Backert Labs preamp--s...
