If I could afford, I’d purchase 100% Oswald Mills Audio gear
He has some really interesting stuff, and his decision that he would rather sell one thing at $100K rather than ten things at $10K seems to be pretty common these days.  I'm interested in the Fleetwood DeVille's, but I have to admit that his decis...
Ayre Codex (former) Owners, what did you move on to?
I got tired of how wonky the Codex is but am also not a giant believer in spending $5K for a DAC.  I'm using a Border Patrol DAC and a Chord Qutest both of which I like.  I actually put the Chord Hugo in my system and A/B'd with the Ayre which led...
NAD M33 and which speakers?
I have my M33 hooked up to pair of Studio Electric M4's.  Really nice pairing.
What Integrated Amp do You use
Linear Tube Audio Z40 & Naim Supernait 3.  Completely different systems and sounds.
LTA Ultralinear vs SET amps
Like everything else, it depends on the match with the speakers.  That said, I agree with Lance that the LTA is not lean at all.  They all sound different though and for me, the Ultralinear didn't move me, while the Z40 Integrated did.  I also rea...
Fleetwood Sound Company
I don't remember what they were being run with at CAF in 2019 but they were really good there and I also thought they were excellent when I heard them a couple of weeks back.  In that case, the amp was the McGary SA-1 with a Backert Labs preamp--s...
Focal Kanta NO.3 Speakers Spending More Doesn't Matter !
If I was going Focal, I would work hard to make into the Sopra line.  They seem better balanced to my ears.
Fleetwood Sound Company
They are not big speakers so I suspect the lumber theory holds little water.  There isn't enough lumber in the speakers to justify $3K, it also looks like the stands have not gone up so that also seems to debunk your theory.  And for the record, y...
Fleetwood Sound Company
I've heard them twice, once at CAF and more recently at a dealer's home.  They are really, really good and at some point, I will probably take the plunge.  I do find it disappointing that for a newer speaker on the market they have jumped the pric...
Nad M33 vs Hegel H390... old question with a bit of a twist (ethernet and headphones)
@atanarjuat99  The LTA does not have its own DAC.  I'm guessing you would connect the fixed output of the Hegel to the headphone amp (you can actually connect up to three devices to the headphone amp) and use the volume control on the LTA.  What I...
Nad M33 vs Hegel H390... old question with a bit of a twist (ethernet and headphones)
@atanarjuat99 Congrats on the Hegel purchase.  I'd love to hear how things are after you have everything set up and have listened for a while.  The difference in the 190 & 390 is really interesting, I'll have to check that out at my local Hege...
Nad M33 vs Hegel H390... old question with a bit of a twist (ethernet and headphones)
I agree with this except I think it's really difficult for some folks to spend the money just to find out.  Given the decline of Audiogon over the years (as far as number and quality of listings), it's just not as easy to flip equipment at a fair ...
Nad M33 vs Hegel H390... old question with a bit of a twist (ethernet and headphones)
A former AE guy's video on the M33 seems pretty reasonable.  He compares it with both the Hegel H390 and the Naim Uniti Nova, which I think are the right comparisons for this.  While I generally agree that the Hegel is usually better than NAD on s...
Nad M33 vs Hegel H390... old question with a bit of a twist (ethernet and headphones)
I agree with your assertion that none of these amps really sound like the others.  I think that delta grows, even more, depending on speaker choices and that the amplifier/speaker match is what's really important here.As far as the videos, the Aud...
