Parasound vs Emotiva I started out with Emotiva XPR-1 monoblocks in my home theater system. I went through a big amp search to find a good sounding amp in my budget. I tried several in my own own (ended up losing money). I also went through and listened to a ton of...
Need help-Will the vividstorm ust screen will work with a short throw projector? I would contact the Vividstorm manufacturer and make sure the screen has the angled ridges to allow for a short throw projector place right below or above the screen. The ridges are directional, so a UST screen made for top mounted projector will...
Laser Projector @soix - yup. I don't have direct experience with "laser" projectors, but the common opinion is they are excellent. But if he can drop the 'laser" requirement, I think the Sony SXRD projectors are the absolute best. As far as TV's go, I really d...
Laser Projector kieranc is just being funny with his comment. Pretty much all the "laser" projectors I have seen are intended for short throw scenarios (where the projector is mounted extremely close to the screen. This requires a special screen with angled rid...
Parasound vs Emotiva Any amp company that plays with the numbers like this and puts fans inside the chassis instead of having 2 separate heat fins can’t be taken seriously. Guess what? All the Classe M300, M400, M600 monoblocks have fans! Does that mean I should ...
Seeking advice for speakers for my Family Room Ok, so if you really want to buy a receiver, that's fine. Just keep in mind that the power supplies are not the best. The higher end receivers will end up being better because the main power supply is much bigger, even if you are just using the ...
Can a digital cable have different connectors? I’ll ask them if they will terminate to RCA on one side which seems sonically better than an an added layer of an a BNC to RCA adapter I have done lots of tests with these types of terminations. In all cases, a cable with BNC termination plus ...
Can a digital cable have different connectors? You should look for a BNC only digital cable and then use a BNC-to-RCA adapter for the one end going into an RCA connection. This actually works out better than if the cable was terminated with an RCA plug.
Which higher end HDMI cable for new OLED TV? After testing just about every type/brand of HDMI cable available, these are my recommendations: 1. best bang for the buck - cryo-treated Neotech NEHH-4200 HDMI 1.4 cable from Audio Sensibility in Canada 2. step up - used Wireworld Silver Starli...
Seeking advice for speakers for my Family Room I'm not really a fan of room correction and I have really tried working with Dirac. Others have different opinions. If you are not going to use the amp part of the receiver, you are actually better off getting a processor. Look for a used Maran...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC I don't know about the 005 reliability (melm can comment better here), but my DA-004 is probably the best quality circuit board I have worked on. Very thick board with thick excellent quality tracings and high quality very durable solder holes (t...
Parasound vs Emotiva If the A23+ doesn't give you the type of sound you want, I'm not sure that the JC5 will. I'm not sure what Monoprice amp you are talking about. The only 2-channel amp they have is $1099. It's essentially an "Emotiva level" version of the ATI 4...
Parasound vs Emotiva I have had extensive experience with both Emotiva and Parasound amps. Owned all generations of Emotiva, including the latest (XPA-1, XPA-1L, XPR-1, XPA Gen 3, A3). I also owned three Parasond JC1 and an A21. I don't think that the Parasound A23...
Goodfellas-They Call Him "Tony Two Times" is he going to complain about people posting twice about stuff? lol
Seeking advice for speakers for my Family Room I would not necessarily look at replacing your receiver with warmer sounding equipment such as Marantz just yet. Work on the room treatments first, and maybe your Sonus Faber speakers. Then see how things sound. |
