Aurender and native DSD output
@peipaul @oddiofyl partially correct - it will downsample to PCM (N20) if your DAC is not compatible with DoP on AES interface. In case of DAVE it does accept DSD over PCM (DoP) and that is how N20 outputs DSD64 via its AES out. Refer to this...
Aurender and native DSD output
Even with USB out of the system and native dsd off, the N20 sends DoP via AES. Between the OCXO clock in the Aurender and the DAVE FPGA (Chord FPGA is really good with DSD), there’s zero need in keeping the USB connected. Not having it in there wi...
Aurender and native DSD output
There’s no bug in your system. By the way Aurender customer service is great and you can reach out to them with this question.  In case of N20, best results will be achieved using AES/EBU output because you are leveraging the Aurender OCXO clock....
Aurender and native DSD output
When you turn native dsd off it sends the DoP via AES. Use whatever sounds best.
Power cord upgrade
@1971gto455ho the sole responsibility of science is to produce theories and in best case scenarios the results that the scientists themselves will need to challenge to prove beyond reasonable doubt. Until we have the means to measure what we hear ...

thijazi OP 2 posts 10-05-2024 at 10:47am I did read all the manuals for both units, there is nothing there that explains it.   🐂 💩 because page 24 of 35 in the Chord DAVE manual explains the sample rate compatibility of each input. I...
Preamp upgrade
@jelliott78 the increase in performance when upgrading a preamp depends on how good the upstream and downstream components are. LS7 was an OK preamp when it was new but there’s a reason why ARC made several more models up from it. The Ref 3 will c...
Power cord upgrade
Science cannot explain how old the universe is. That number changes every 20-25 years. Oscilloscopes can’t tell me what my system sounds like. Nobody knows 💩. So that’s that for science.
Power cord upgrade
There’s no 40 year debate here. This is thousands year old debate of random gimps entering conversations they should be no part of to share opinions they can’t substantiate.   The OP had asked for a power cord recommendation for a specific compon...

Pass Labs XA30.5 Fuse Issue/Question
+1 on calling pass labs and the music room. I would start with pass labs to gather some data points for the conversation with TMR. Question - do you have the amp connected to the wall or to some sort of power conditioner/strip?
Any audiophile use computer (MacBook) as your audio streaming source?
@randywong I used Mac mini for streaming using Roon and it couldn’t compete with a dedicated streamer. Lumin U1 Mini easily beat it. Yes streamers are computers but they’re designed for streaming and are optimized for it (lower jitter/noise). As ...
Clipping with Separates with change of Power Conditioner[?]
Agree with Jerry here. I tried several power conditioners and prefer all my components connected to wall out. To add, I was never able to achieve good results with amps running off of a power conditioner. for light source components or ones with i...
Separates vs Integrated
Coda CSiB is a really good integrated. I had the V1 version which is 150/300/600w per channel into 8/4/2. The CSiB drove my Wilson Sabrina no issues. I am using Boulder 866 now. I would say both amps are excellent and it comes down to personal pr...
