Thiel CS7.2 vs Aerial 20T Mmike84You mentioned "And lows are lower than low and extremely full". How low was it? Around 25hz low or lower? Do you need Aerial's subwoofer?I currently have a pair of 7.2 and they produce deep bass very nicely, around 25 hz. I also know ribbon...
Blown CS7.2 Tweeter/midrange Tom_hankins,I am not a fan of Krell at all. I guess I may try a big Krell some day when an opportunity comes up. Not to offend anyone, my past experience with Krell (older models) was that they sounded whitish or bleached. Don't know about the new...
Blown CS7.2 Tweeter/midrange Tom_hankins,What big Krells are you talking about? I used to own JC-1 that sounded fine, but not great. I also had a pair of BEL 1001 mono blocks that sounded great, but the Lamm 2.1 is the best. Well, now I am re-thinking about this and may need ...
Blown CS7.2 Tweeter/midrange Ckoffend,I agree with you. It could be the amps. However, the amps I am using is a pair of Lamm 2.1 mono blocks that I trust. They are rated 200 watts at either 4 or 8 ohms. It has a switch at the back to select the ohm setting. It is class A up t...
Hi-End carts - pros Congratulations! I am sure you will like it. I agree with Kurk_Tank that you don't need to set the VTF beyond the max. recommended by the manufacturer. I had good results at 2.0 gram. I didn't see any sonic benefits at 2.5 grams and beyond, except...
Hi-End carts - pros Kurt is one of my acquaintances in Audiogon. Yes, I upgraded to the Goldfinger v2. I don't have any experience with the Koetsu cartridge. The XV-1s is an excellent all around cartridge from top to bottom. Excellent tracking, rich tonality, low noi...
UPS Shipping/Damage Claim policy experience Although I haven't had any damaged packages using UPS, I always try to stay away from it and use Fedex. The packages handled by UPS often times are delivered with dents, small holes, crushed corners, etc. UPS handles packages very roughly. I am qu...
Great Cartridge for Graham Phantom I have been using Dynavector XV-1s with the Phantom with great results. I guess the Phantom can be easily matched with a great variety of cartridges due to its neutrality.
LAMM QUESTIONS: M 1.2 REF. VS M 2.2 I have not compared the two amps, but I totally agree with Kurk_tank. The decision to choose which amps has a lot to do with matching your speakers. Given your big room, the spec of your Verity speakers, and assuming you play quite loud, you may w...
Thiel CS6 I used to use Parasound JC-1 mono amps to drive my CS7.2 with good result. The CS 6 and 7.2 have a lot of similarities, especially the impedance. I am now using Lamm 2.1 monos as they seem to match the 7.2's tonal balance better. But at about $4k ...
HDMI to DVI adapter? I got one (HDMI to DVI) made by MIT. It works great with my Sony PS3. Running audio separately is fine. Although at 1080i (that my TV is only capable of), the picture still looks really great.
C-J confusion. I personally like the ACT 2 a lot although I haven't heard an ART I or II. Plus, ACT 2 only has four tubes to maintain vs. 10 on the ART series. There are quite a few ACT 2 used at good price in Audiogon.
Benz LP vs. Dynavector XV-1s They both are very good cartridges. I personally own a XV-1s. IMO, if you system is already very full sounding, I would go for the XV-1s. Benz LP tends to be a bit on the thick side (I heard in my friend's sytem). So the Benz may be a better match...
One's trash is someone else's treasure Why don't we change the thread title since every one is off the topic.
Lamm Owners: M2.2 Problems Talking about tubes, Amperex 6922 PQ white label US sounds very good with my Lamm M2.1 amps. They are a bit expensive, but well worth it. I like single tube per amp design; it saves me chunks of money for upgrade and maintenance. |
