Habituation to system changes: the Audiophiles' curse... I'm the same, but I feel it a blessing. I initially hear a difference. Sometimes better and other times not, but my ears almost immediately adjust and I'm back to just enjoying the tunes. That's why I don't tube roll.
The myth of "best" in audio needs to be addressed by all of us I once stopped and ate at a burger joint that advertised itself as "The World's Best Burger." I went in with a 'Show me' attitude. It was, in fact, the world's best burger.Go figure.
Definitely lonely to be an audiophile Audiophiles setting up their listening room so others can enjoy the music, as well. What's that about!?!
members and their systems Food is overrated.
Sound quality of Newer versus Older speakers The oldest speakers I own are the Spica TC-50s, which are probably about 25 years old. Properly set up, they sound about as good as any speaker I own, and I own quite a few. I agree with the above-poster about speaker technology not having chang...
Class D for a Tube Lover The Audions look very futuristic to me, like they somehow made improvements to tubes electronics. I hope lots of people buy them, tire of them, and sell them at discounted prices until bottom dwellers like me can afford them.I'd like to hear them...
What frustrates you the most about seller’s for sale ads? A few things I really hate: When item for sale is the original version of a product, which is now on Mk IV, and the seller lists the original price as that of a new Mk IV as opposed to the original one from 20 years ago, which he’s trying to sell....

Class D for a Tube Lover Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't realize PS Audio's catalogue had Class D amps. I guess I never really thought about it until the heat the Cary's created in my music room even this early in springtime where it's still a bit cool to chilly ou...
Are there any speakers for nearfield listening that sound GREAT at low volumes? You might consider an integrated amp with a loudness switch. With it engaged, your speakers will sound more "full" at lower volumes.A great many of the older integrated amps had this feauture. You can pick one up for close to nothing on the 'bay...
Class D for a Tube Lover I never realized the likes of Audio Research, Rogue or even PS Audio had Class D amps in their caralogue. So many brands and models I've never heard of. Looks like I'll have a lot to look into. I've got quite a few different speakers that get r...
Class D for a Tube Lover Do keep me (us) informed.Thanks.tcatch: What made the M700 better than the S300 in your view?
Class D for a Tube Lover I saw another thread about the AGD Audion. How'd they get all that stuff inside a tube? It's like those ships in a bottle. Black magic, I say.Intrigued. Saw price. Intrigued no more.Class D amps have lots of terminology associated with them t...
