Best Balanced Tube Amp To Pair With Meridian G02? With just about any amplifier it would be under $250.00.With tube amplifiers, normally the grid of the input tube is driven by the input signal. Since we want to do balanced (because it sounds better), we will have an inverted signal to work with ...
Schroder sq and the new talea However - a roman gladius, its blade made from the special alloy produced by a certain celtic tribe in the area of lake Chiemsee in southern Bavaria ( because the soil there was contaminated by millions of fragments from an exploded comet which ex...
Question for Atmasphere re: class A output calc Hi Glen, given your numbers above I would say that's pretty close, without knowing more about the amp. For example, for the purpose of this example, the base current has been ignored.
Schroder sq and the new talea Dertonarm,And sorry - no, I do not think that something simply has the value that people put on it.I still have the naive thinking, that the real contend -i.e.: the inherent quality ( in the very sense of the word ) of a product/something ultimate...
Question for Atmasphere re: class A output calc Gbart,Lets assume a 0.1556A standing current on a push pull output stage. Can you tell me, is this the total current between two output devices, or is just one? There is an interpretive issue there. Are we talking about transistors here? Is the res...
E V Patricians-- JBL Hartsfields- Your choice Weseixas, I did see a JBL speaker at RMAF. It had the horn on top, rotated 90 degrees from the traditional alignment, which is a good idea as this would favor horizontal dispersion. The tweeter horn was molded into the top.It was not a large speak...
Amp Specs esp. DampFactor : Citation, Adcom, etc. I think there is. This is just my opinion of course, but I think we need a standard signal burst, one that last for about 1 second or so, that is completely non-repetative.The instrument would then compare the amplifier's output to the original. T...
Schroder sq and the new talea I also find it odd that the Triplanar is not mentioned, if for no other reason that with a casual glance at the Talea, you see the trademark VTA tower and tunable weight system of the Triplanar. Its kind of hard to miss. The Triplanar uses a bearin...
E V Patricians-- JBL Hartsfields- Your choice Classic Audio Loudspeakers got their start reproducing the Hartsfield. The last time I heard one of his, he had a different woofer in it from the original. That speaker was playing bass way below the limits that it had in the 1950s!
Amp Specs esp. DampFactor : Citation, Adcom, etc. Some folks are passionately against using specs in judging equipment and others, albeit a smaller group IMO, are just a passionate that specs/performance should be measurable. Personally, I'm a military historian and tend to be analytical, so whil...
is a step up/down electric transformer bad ? T_bone, your first example is what I was talking about, not the latter. 100W on a 1500W transformer is no worries. The formula for calculating the distortion at the output of the transformer is E = I x Z (if this seems similar to Ohm's law to you i...
Vinyl presses on last leg? Pressing limitations st The Neumann isn't the only cutter out there by any means. There are a lot of Westerex 3D units, and if you know history, these are the ones that did the old RCAs and Mercuries. The Westerex still has good support. The real problem is the laquers. ...
Can fun be used to describe equipment? Duke's speakers seem like the kind that set up fairly easily, FWIW. I have a set of Classic Audio Loudspeakers that seem to set up easily as well. I have them 6 inches from the rear wall, and no worries with the soundstage and the like...
Best Balanced Tube Amp To Pair With Meridian G02? Just FWIW... It is an easy task to add a true balanced connection to nearly any amplifier. Now before y'all go off on me, keep in mind that I am associated with balanced amps and preamps, and that I have good reason for saying what I did.I am **no...
is a step up/down electric transformer bad ? The rule of thumb is that the transformer be rated for double the maximum that you are going to ask of it. If you go above that, the transformer will add distortion to the AC line and the results are both audible and measurable! and not good. |
