Ever sit down to listen and just say wow?
garebear, perhaps...;)Hey, stingreen...if those two 'events' were concurrent, What Were You Playing at the time?  (No, not 'with'...that's kinda obvious. I'll assume...)...probably one of those 'crescendo classics'....they're always hard to get on...

...arriving late, as usual...Hey, bgpowell...I've heard of and been to the Newform site.  Been curious about their drivers, how do they sound to you vs. any other line source ribbon/planar of that design that you may have run into?  Most of that t...

...something lovely to listen to while considering that...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7no9Ak2uSrQ

Agreed...although I've got my preferences and invoked the name of a specific driver to clarify that, I don't want us to drift into a 'cable/interconnect' style pull-pull this vs. that arm wrestling match.  And I'm infamous for off-topic drift....T...

Hi, Eric, and back atcha'...*S*No real argument from this mortal about that....room integration is everyone's devil, and freq. response I beat over the head with active eq.  And yes, it's unfair to try to get high mass to respond as quickly.  So I...

I use and enjoy a pair of ESS AMT's (the 'big black blocks) as a reference for high end hilarity.  Fast and clean, and hard to find woofers to keep up with them.  Other ribbons can be in that range but the only way to improve is to 'line source' t...

Ignore the lame cartoon....find something else to look at...*S*
Magic Moments in listening
One of the oldest albums I own and still in good condition, despite the miles and the various TT's it's spun on is the double one from The Pentangle.Folk, jazz, and trad.  "Sweet Child" is usually the first thing that any new TT or cart gets welco...
Hey guys, time to can your table. All you need is love!
Another variety of player was labeled a 'lifestyle' item by a wag....which I think is appropriate.  It'll fly with some, flop with the rest, and certainly the latter (for the most part) in the confines of these forums...What struck me was the shap...
Separate conductors for separate frequency ranges in cables
I'm sorry, but the skeptic in me calls this 'marketing BS'.  With the lack of a crossover at the 'upstream end', I can't see electrons self-sorting themselves to any appreciable degree.  Physics is physics at the end of the day.  Blind listen if y...
Is anyone thinking about building Walsh drivers?
Absolutely, misstl.I got to hear a pair of F's eons ago, and was enthralled by what I heard and how.  I couldn't afford them, nor had a space that they could work their magic.  That, and they were huge and I was too 'mobile' at the time to move th...

My fantasy:Offer you a beer before you hear them.If I can make you drop it, I'll know I've succeeded. ;)

*G*  I appreciate the support that I receive here and at the other forums I haunt.  As for 'variations on the theme', I'm certainly finding that to be true.  There's a number of 'enhancements' that I'd like to try on just a 'simple' version to see...
A Big DIY Bang for Your Buck?
I like waffles, myself...good maple syrup, butter....What?  Oh, yeah....yes, I can see there's some confusion going on here...I'm drawn to it like a moth faced with a strong source of light....not that I can offer any pithy commentary on basalt as...
What causes a chirp?
....voiceboil Was funnier, though..made me think of quiet annoyance rising to a crescendo of rage.  Made me stop to consider where I've seen that....Oh, yeah...the 'whose cables' better' forums...;)
