Nordost Power Cables - my latest experience
I use a Vishnu on my digital frontend and I am very happy with it. On my player I find it is very fast and open and not at all lean or sterile. So far between my group of Kimber and Wywires PC’s I own, on my CD player it is the favorite where it r...
Full Range under $5k-ish
Aerial Acoustics 7T - UsedMonitor Audio Gold 300 another nice speaker.
Analysis plus ova 9‘S vs. Kimber cable 8tc’s.
Whatever you purchase for SC’s just buy a standard pair non bi-wire and use jumpers at the binding post on the speakers removing the cheap straps. There’s more than one way to connect speaker cable w/jumpers and the configuration will vary so you ...

HELP!!! I need a “GOOD-CHEAP” preamp solution???
Used to own a Modwright SWL 9.0 SE so can speak honestly on this piece. It is indeed a Giant Killer and will keep one up late listening to music. Tried several preamps before I moved up the the MW 36.5 and the 9.0 made many seem boring to listen t...
newbie seeks advice
If you have any decent stores locally start by getting to know them and hang out there a little; hopefully they’ll be a good source to learn from. Ideally your local shop will let you start dragging some gear home to hear for yourself what you thi...
CD no more produced?
Last I checked Barnes and Noble has a fairly large selection of CD’s both in a local mall here and a stand-alone store. There’s always Amazon too. Prices at both are fair. I’m getting ready to take the plunge to buy my first streamer too so can’t ...
Refurbished Bluesound Vault 2
I don’t see any info on a trade in program. My guess they had a few returns but majority is NOS. They might have let dealers return the previous units in exchange for the current model and now the discounted price. I have no plans to use the built...
Does the quality of an older interconnect degrade the sound over time?
Agree with everything above. If it sounds good leave it alone. More than likely after 25 years your hearing isn’t what it used to be. My hearing isnt bad and actually I think it’s fine but I’m sure it’s not what it was 25 years ago.
Does any one know a cable that is able to compete with clear day double shotgun?
twinterfinderPauls jumpers are great too. If your speakers are bi-wire and only using the straps that came with the speakers, you really need to get your hands on Paul’s jumpers. Clear Day IC’s are worth finding too.Haven’t heard anything on Paul ...
Does any one know a cable that is able to compete with clear day double shotgun?
Have double shotgun’s and agree a great cable along with Paul’s IC’s both single and balanced. I’m not using my Clear Days currently, but will keep them as maybe I’ll build a second system or something. At the moment I am using Wywires Silvers thr...
Low Volume Listening - XLR Cables ??
My Wywires and Clear Day balances cables do very well at lower volume levels. I’d say stay away from warmer sounding cables that aren’t revealing. I’ve found over the years as my components and cables have improved and my system has become more re...
Cable recommendation for Krell & Vandersteen
Electronic and heavy metal I’d definitely stay away from silver and ultra revealing cables. On a serious note Belden, Mogami and Canare are actually very good cables a little on the warmer side. I have a lot of experience with the Canare line. For...
Pass Labs X250.8 or MC452 ?
pianosteve22, Your ARC LS 25MK II will work just fine with probably any of the amps mentioned above. I had a LS 25MK II at home I as demoing and used it on several amps including my Pass.
Older or Modern amp for older Speakers (NHT 3.3)
Grab a nice power cord and if don’t have and can, run a dedicated circuit to your equipment with a decent hospital grade receptacle to start with. If you can’t run a dedicated circuit at least use a decent receptacle; you don’t have to break the b...
