Cambridge 851C vs Oppo 205
Oh I don’t regret picking up a last run Oppo 205 at all. I was going nuts while waiting for it as I was hoping for 2 channel it bettered what I have. I will use it for video or maybe keep it in my system as on poorer recordings which there’s plent...
What are the speakers you very rarely find in the Used market(Audiogon or Anywhere)?
Yankee Audio
Need a new CD player
If my player died I wouldn’t think of replacing it for a minute. Buy a nice DAC if you don’t already have one for $2K or less and buy a refurbished Bluesound Vault 2 for $800 or spend more on the DAC and buy a refurbished Node 2 if you don’t want ...
Is this too hot for my preamp? What should I do?
If you’re looking to upgrade in a couple years leave as is as you’ll probably have no choice. Yes... give them some room to vent.
Re-review where to apply Power cables
Agree you have to just spend the time and experiment as there’s no solid rule that applies. I do start with source components first, then to preamp and end at the amp. Cables in my opinion are tone controls so you have to learn the sound or differ...
Nordost Power Cables - my latest experience
Agree. I don’t buy into one has to use the same cable manufacturer throughout. Even if every component in your rack is made by the same manufacture it doesn’t make a difference. For one thing, room acoustics will have a play in the sound more than...
Room size
A room with the exact same width and depth is a hard room to start with. Sometimes you just have to work with what you have though. You’re going to want to spend the money and work on room treatments. Contact Vicoustic for help.https://www.vicoust...

Phono preamp suggestions
I have a Parks Audio Budgie that is no longer made but if you can find a used one it’s pretty darn good. The only phono preamp I’ve compared it to was an Audio Research LS1 and I much preferred the Budgie and that was by a large margin. It’s a sil...
Asking for help - Please! How to play CD's in car with no CD player!
As long as you are getting cell phone coverage you do not need to download the files onto your phone, so you can stream any song or playlist you build. You can obviously download them to your phone so if you don’t have phone coverage you still hav...
Asking for help - Please! How to play CD's in car with no CD player!
Unless you have some really rare music or recordings you personally made at live events, just get a Spotify or Tidal account. So easy to rebuild your playlist on either of these platforms and you’re going to discover so much new music. Low monthly...
Nordost Power Cables - my latest experience
Not to keep plugging Wywires but there’s a reason I do and it’s because of two main reasons. The first is Alex prefers to do a consultation which he called me to get the list of my components, what I like in a system as far to get an understanding...
Looking for speaker recommendations
Second the B&W’s as the D3 series are very good.
ARC LS26/27 vs BAT VK31SE
The new MW LS 300 has two balanced inputs and outputs. Currently the one balanced input on my LS36.5 is enough but if I ever added a balanced phono preamp I’d probably just have to hear what component clearly deserves it. My LS36.5 is the one box ...
