Kenwood KA-8100 integrated Amp
I can’t speak for your amp but I have owned the LS7 and I would start with that first. I found the LS7 to be lifeless and really didn’t shine anywhere and I tried NOS tubes. ARC knew this pre wasn’t competitive  and probably has the shortest lifes...
Trouble Contacting Clear Day Cables
Been sometime since I have spoken with Paul unfortunately. As mentioned above by others, Paul is a great guy with a big heart and the world could use a lot more people like him that's for sure. Being a Christian It didn't take long to figure out P...
Krell iBias or Mark Levinson 533/535H series amplifiers with Aerial Acoustics Speakers?
Very happy with my Pass X250 with my 7B’s. Had a X250.5 at home as a demo and definitely a little more refined but not by much. Look at Pass.
All Quiet on the Oppo front?
My UDP-205 is on its way. FedEx says I should have it 09.19.18. Can’t wait to receive this and see how it holds up against my Cambridge 851C which I think is a great player for the money. I’ll be surprised for audio if the Oppo is as good but we’l...
Revel f 228 Be first impressions?
Heard them today and thought they sounded very nice. Local store just got them in and said they only have about ten hours on them which surprised me for what I heard. Very clean on top which I was expecting to be hard and sterile but not. Top end ...
Great Value in Used Phono Preamp’s?
Parks Audio Budgie if you can find one.
Magnepan 30.7’s
Forgot to post my opinion on the 30.7’s from my local store demo. First I should note that our local Magnepan dealer over the last several years has decided to chase home theatre over two channel and because of that they really don’t have the comp...
Magnepan 3.7i vocals sound harsh
Congrats on your Pass X250.8. I’ve not heard the XP 10 pre but I’m sure it’s very good. I use an older X250 and love it with my ModWright LS 36.5. If you’re not using good balanced cables I would recommend that and don’t use the stock power cords ...
Tube amp/integrated with bass grip for Aerial 7Ts
ModWright KWI 200 if you’re looking for an integrated or Pass X250.8 if only looking for an amp.I’ve not dragged home an ARC Ref 75SE but have heard it many times at my local dealership and it’s a great amp but knowing my 7B’s I can’t imagine it r...
Krell KSA100 vs Threshold 400A vs McCormack DNA 0.5
If all you need is a 100 watt amp look and read up on an Audio Research 100.2. Great sounding amp that has a cult following for good reason. I owned one and if you want something close to a tube amp it’ll get you in the ballpark a little. Don’t wo...
My 6922 Tubes Are Too Bright!
How does your room sound in general? If you clap your hands together is there a loud ping behind it or does it sound natural? You just might need to work on your listening area, speaker and your seat placement. I recommend get your room and placem...
Pass Labs vs Mark Levinson vs Parasound - best 2 channel amp used under $2,500?
Forgot to add that from a cold start, at least my Pass amp doesn’t really come alive; it doesn’t sound horrible by any means. I do find if I leave it on for twenty four hours it sounds its best.I did discover after adding dedicated circuits and be...
Pass Labs vs Mark Levinson vs Parasound - best 2 channel amp used under $2,500?
My Pass is far from clinical or cold. To say they sound like older ARC amps is the first I’ve heard of that. As far as not being robust my amp has no problem making my Aerial Acoustics speakers which need power to come alive with plenty of authori...
Mark Levinson or Pass Labs...What is each's "House Sound" like?
I owned an LS7 once and didn’t keep it very long. It’s was ARC’s entry preamp at the time and I felt the SS LS3 was a much better preamp. My first thought reading your post is I’d look at your preamp first. As as far as Levinson or Pass on your Th...
Pass Labs vs Mark Levinson vs Parasound - best 2 channel amp used under $2,500?
Pass X250 all day long. The Parasound A21 and A23 are very competitive amps in their respective price points but not in the same league of a Pass... yes I have listened to them and the older one’s. I think you’re going to have to dig way back to g...
