Best integrated tube amp for 1500? There is a Line Magnetic on the Agon site now. That would be a good push/pull integrated amp. I have the 216i and really like the build quality and sound. Also some Primaluna models, but I have no experience with that brand.
hearing loss and amp choices Get a quality hearing aid. It will help you in the other thousands of situations you will be in, outside of listening to music. Trust me!
Which device makes for a better digital music source? Computer or streamer? All very useful and educational comments and tips. It is pleasing to know one can spend little and one can spend alot but those at the extremes and those in the middle can still enjoy digital systems. I may try the filters for my own audio rig and...
Speakers known for great midrange. Wilson Audio Duette.
What’s the deal with high end CD transports not having the ability to program tracks!? I have an old Sony XA20ES CD player with an external DAC. It has all those functions and I agree, "why not include them"? I don't think the high cost of these transports are worth it. You don't get much??? Maybe they think extra electronics introd...
Looking for info on speaker loads? FWIW I had a Parasound A21 pushing Magnepan MMG's. The amp never clipped but as I pushed the volume up I could almost feel the current draw on the amp. With the other two speakers I have, one pair is 8 ohm and the other pair is 4 ohm i never felt ...
Tube Integrated Under 1,500 shtinkydog I have had a great experience with Line Magnetic. I bought a LM 216 integrated tube amp from my dealer who stated that LM Audio is 100% behind their products. He told me ARC cannot say that. I played the 216 alot for 5 years until a tr...
Tube Integrated Under 1,500 IMHO I would try to save up or extend your budget. For used the recommendation for the ARC gear is solid, but new I would look at Line Magnetic or Willsenton. The Willsenton R800i looks very good at just about $3K, BTW some Chinese companies do ma...
Tekton Double Impacts jcs01, Now that this thread has come back to life a bit maybe other Tekton owners who have had more time with the speakers can chime in and share their own experiences and also talk about that concern. I just use digital sources (streamer and DAC...
Tekton Double Impacts Jcs01, Mine are not broken in yet but they sound better every week. One thing I did notice with them was that they tend to reveal more of what is good or bad in my recordings. If I have a terrible recording they sound awful, but when I put on a g...
Up to $4000US tower speakers for Jazz and Classical Music BTW as a Vandersteen owner I can tell you that the 2CE sounds best when one gets the right placement in the room and recognizing they are time and phase accurate speakers. The front face (top) of the speaker has to be tilted back by adjusting the ...
Vandersteen Forum Just buy the 2CE Sig III and be done with it. Enjoy the sound. The Vandersteen speaker brand and 2CE model would not around for decades if it were not for the fact they are well designed and sound very good even in 2022. I guess one could argue t...
Full range speaker recommendation The best stand mount speakers I have heard are Wilson Audio Duette. You get incredible sound with these. If you combine these with subwoofers.... I can't imagine the sound. Interestingly there is a listing on Audiogon for a used pair. Other than ...
Dynaudio - Made in China vs Denmark Another interesting observation to note. Some companies are designing and building audio products in China that are as good or better than made in other countries. I have a Line Magnetic tube integrated amp that sounds amazing and I would like to ...
Do audiophiles creat the high prices we complain about. noske If I wanted a sports car (which I really don't but this is for comparison purposes only) I would buy a new or used Corvette. There are Lambos and Ferraris and very nice and expensive sports cars but I think the Vette is a classic and also b... |
