LYRA DELOS IS AMAZING!!!!

After nearly throwing the LYRA DELOS in the garbage, a swap out of phono preamps have vindicated this fine cartridge.  The BAT VK P12 phono preamp has transformed the LYRA into a game changer. I retract all previous statements about this Cartridge other than it I do believe it sounds best with tubes or EXTREMELY high end solid state with FET's. Music now floats effortlessly without grain, without harshness and full of detail.  The Lyra tracks beautifully and is nearly as quiet as digital( no clicks and pops).

Opinion is fine.

But he was not having any of the recommendations and was just bad mouthing the Delos.  Believe it or not, people read up on these major purchases and a bad thread can leave a bad taste.

I followed the other thread, this guy doesn’t know what’s going on.
How acceptable is it to go on a web forum with a preconceived idea, not listen to any of the assistance or suggestions to mitigate the problem that was asked about? Then to denigrate not only the product in question but to also blatantly insult and ridicule those that are trying to offer assistance, and finally when the original designer of said product offers his assistance (which IMHO is going above and beyond by Mr.Carr), to essentially ignore that and go on denigrating!
@ozzy62 I have not followed any of the other threads by the OP, but he will now be on my ignore list..as I can see your points are correct about him.
@jeffvegas: Have you considered your obligation to append a copy of your laudatory comment to the earlier thread you started with unwarranted criticism of this excellent cartridge?

This thread was a good and courageous start at correcting the false impression that could only harm Lyra’s reputation in the audiophile community. But IIMO, you have more to do.

Peace . . . Out!
...and if struck by the urge to toss a cart (and follow through on it), PM me and I'll come dig for it....

(...already have a respirator and rubber gloves, and a hazmat suit isn't That hard to get...esp. recently....)  ;)

But, having an attack of good sense at the right time rates a +.5...all things considered.  And a bit of 'damage control' would be appropo...*S*
You will probably like the Delos even better with a top notch phono preamp.  Start looking for a Herron VTPH-2a.  No longer manufactured, but you might get lucky on the used market.

I'm currently using a Lyra Skala with the VTPH-2a and find no need to upgrade at all.  Previous cart was a Soundsmith-rebuilt Clavis D.C.  Very musical, but on the thin side.  Always all Herron electronics for the last 20+ years.

The problem you now have is that your front-end will be better than your downstream components.
