Amazon HD Lower Price

Amazon has lowered it's price $5.00 for it's HD service to 7.99 for prime users. With Apple also now offering a HD service the competition is heating up. Will Tidal and Qobus follow and lower their prices?

The Bluesound Node 2i successfully streamed lossless audio from Amazon Music HD from 16 bit / 44.1 kHz up through 24 bit / 192 kHz. Amazon's own apps are unable to do what the Bluesound ecosystem can do with respect to playing the highest quality lossless audio.Nov 16, 2020

I just read that there is a new improved Node coming out soon. I hope they fix the problems with them that I’ve read, posted by owners. It’s a good value if reliable.
When Amazon integrates with Roon I'll consider them again. I cancelled my Amazon subscription when I got Roon, and use Tidal. I'd have to export my albums list (1000+ records) before I could try Qobuz if I only want one of them.
Amazon Music Unlimited now gives you Amazon HD. It's 3 months free for prime members. I've recently subscribed. The SQ is not supposed to be as good as Qobuz but they have 70 million songs at cd quality or better. It's now about half the price of Qobuz.

My Node2i works very well every day on Android. There was a problem when setting up the account when new; interface problems, HD not streaming.
It was no big deal for me, customer service assigned a tech to work out the bugs, took a few days.
Maybe it depends on the device being used.

Amazon ultra HD has a great interface. Using it with a Cambridge dac which accepts 24/192 and up converts  to 24/384!89. XLR to anthem p5
