Are audiophile speakers turn on for single women?

I recently purchased a pair of speakers that I showed to a non-audiophile female friend of mine. She said they looked beautiful and asked how much they cost. When I told her, her jaw dropped. She then asked if I was using them to pick up hot chicks. Hmm...I told her the only people who get turned on by my audiophile speakers are balding middle-aged men. She had a laugh, but I wondered if anyone tried to impress a girl with his stereo system. High end is a male dominated hobby like sports cars. So have you found a woman who was turned on by your system. I have had no such look. I just get blank stares when I talk about my hobby to women.

Kijanki, Everyone have a right to always have something else in mind :-). I also agree that posing this question is silly. I've never thought about impressing woman with speakers and perhaps never will in my cognitive life. It would look to me that if you have nothing to say to a woman you can let speakers do the job for you (isn't that silly?). That idea can only be found in forums of Audiogon.
Women are emotionally impressed by man's mind and speech power. Showing off your toys is childish, naive and clear sign of mind power deficit.
"It amazes me that anyone would even pose this question."

I think amusement, and perhaps a bit of wishful thinking, is probably the point.
re you kidding me? High end audio is like motorcycles to woman. They tolerate it if you have a big bankbook or unit. The formula is to buy a new piece of audio gear with money from a separate band account and if your woman says anything about it say shut up bitch. Then take her for a nice dinner, play or buy her some shoes. Shoes to woman is the closet thing to audio gear. Don't bitch slap her never
