Vandersteen VLR CT

I am not remotely close to any Vandersteen Dealers. I have a nice pair of Vandersteen 2CE Sigs. Going to start to save some cash for speakers. So was wondering if  VLR CT would be an up grade? Or best to find a pair of used Treo CT down the road? Thoughts?

@tomic601 .
Great post- and spot on.

@OP,
I own both the VLR’s (non CT) with HSU subs-for my office, and Treo’s with 2wq’s-for my main rig.
I could have gotten the VLR CT’s, but the office isn’t a place for serious listening, it just keeps my mind active.
I love both systems to death. I run the office a bit warmer (more bass) than my main system, so I can enjoy a little difference between the two systems.
Sub 3’s, I hope, will be on the horizon later in the year for the main rig.

For me, I would save for a pair of Treo’s-even non CT. They are a much more refined speaker than the 2 or 3’s. Adding a pair of subs will probably get you into Quatro performance. Though the Quatro’s are just a bit deeper size-wise,I like the ability to be able to move my subs where they fit without notice. The Treo’s are slim and easily positioned in my cramped space. The Sub 3's should allow me to tune the subs to the room.

Thanks for the responses...... May have to make a 500 mile round trip to see the dealer. Be nice as large of a city as Minneapolis and St Paul if they had a dealer.
Speaking of the Quatro CT or not, does it have enough bass let say in a 15’x15’ room?
Maplegrovemusic, if you talking about AP. They never have anything current. Alot of things the sell are many years old. Or several models back. That way they can push people in other directions. They like to sell ARC, Wilson and Magnepan. Most others are old stock. Give you an example. The have sets of Amps and preamps a local Manufacturer that is several models back. And in my opinion no way represents the current models. Then they compare that to current model of say ARC. Although They still compete with them. It’s not a fair representation of the product. But the current models would blow ARC away. The Vandy 5a they have I bet are almost 20 years old.
