Which? Muse model 100 amp or Acurus DIA100 integrated?

I hade muse 160 monos.
They were o.k., but were just a little bit 'too' smooth for my tastes.
I prefer a sharper image and tighter bass.
I personally would go for the Acurus; great little piece.

To follow up from your 1st post-- the Muse 100 according to the Stereophile review, for 1 channel driven hit 145 watts at 8-ohms and 240 at 4------ but perhaps most importantly-- 45 amps peak-- so it's a little power house.

I thought they went out of business a long time ago. Even though I prefer the Muse, Acurus is a very interesting company. They're focus was to build the most affordable, entry level high end gear, but still keep it made in the US.

Another vote for the Muse, again, not even close in my opinion.

Also, keep in mind that the whole point of using the Theta's volume control is to eliminate the need for a line stage. Even though most would agree that the Muse is the better sounding of the 2 amps, not running the signal through the line stage on the Acurus will make an even bigger difference.

I would take the Muse also. For me no contest.

I would opt for the DIA100 due to its control in the lower registers (it's a bit grainy on top). But as Zd542 says - it all comes down to your preferences.

For me personally, I would go with the Muse. But that doesn't mean you would prefer the same thing I do.
