Where's the next weak link in my analog chain?
Currently using the following:
Mofi Ultradeck w/ MasterTracker cart
- Powered by AQ Thunder power cable
Sutherland 20/20 mk1 with LPS (stock power cable)
- Zu Mission mk1 phono from TT to pre, Zu Mission mk1 from pre to amp
I don't have much left that I think I could do on this end before upgrading the table entirely. I'm curious where you would spend your next dollar?
MC Cart
Phono cable
Interconnect
Power cable to phono
Beyond that I think this set up will be pretty well maxed out and it would be time for a new TT to start squeezing out more.
@displayname yeah, usually listen to 4-6 records a day. My system gets turned on when I wake up, stay on for most of the day. I work from home, most of the time work from my. listing spot. Spinning records and making dinner has become a problem. Try to stream now when cooking. |
@mswale I’m very jealous, but that would certainly make the cost of retipping a significant factor. I finally did some upgrades to my headphone system at my desk for WFH days. Too much zoom to sit at the stereo all though unfortunately. |
If your phono stage can handle it, maybe get a Soundsmith cartridge because the needle replacement is much more affordable |
@kennyc thanks, didn't know anything about them. Sadly they do not have a dealer in WA state. Looks like a good cart for the money. Like the idea of much cheaper needle replacements. |
