where does Quicksilvers sonic signature fall in ?

I don't have that much Cary or BAT experience, but my QS Minis are very balanced sounding: Bass sounds neither dry nor bloated (but detailed), mids are a sheer pleasure and lean toward the warm side, and the highs are smooth and extended. I replaced the "China" factory driver 12AX7s w/RCAs and use EH EL34s, and the amp was born again. (The original 12AX7s were dreadful to my ears.) Something I've noticed w/these amps is that I find myself understanding the lyrics to every song, regardless of how bombastic the song may be. The amps seem to create a space for the singer's voice almost like you would hear live. I would give them a demo if you can w/GOOD driver tubes.

I had V4s driving Eminent Technology 8s and felt the same way--JUST RIGHT. I think Mike Sanders is a relative genius at simple circuits, WELL executed, but I THINK he's even better at designing output transformers.

His amps are musical, not warm, not cool, not veiled, not overly detailed, just MUSICAL. If 120 Watts will do it for you, go for them.

Take a look at The Rogue m150's as well .I know I don't really answer your question and that's because I don't have any experience with the brands you mention however I own the Rogue's and can testify to their sound quality.

I ran a pair of their Silver Edn monos through Proac RS2s for years. I later switched to an ARC VT-100, and the Q's were definitely "darker." Based on other's responses, maybe the Q's were merely "warm" and the ARC's are bright by comparison. ;)

Hi, I don't have enough experience with the other brands you mention above to compare. However, the V4s are well balanced and will have some tube bloom that takes them away from absolute neutrality. However, it's a very nice sound that is pleasant, natural and unfatiguing. In comparison to my reference BEL amps, the V4s are less detailed but offer that bloom that tube lovers rejoice in.
