Elvis Presley, "Way Down in the Jungle Room." IMO, this release refutes the common assertion that the King was totally spent as a creative force in the last year or so of his life. There's a bunch of really good stuff on here. |

Perhaps this post should be in the "Misc" forum but her goes. I wanted to let you all know that thanks to arcam88, I am currently reading: "Glenn Hughes, The Autobiography, From Deep Purple To Black Country Communion".
It is a very self depreciating story and Glenn leaves nothing to the imagination. I mean nothing. Some great pictures, even one with Glenn on the back of Tommy Bolin in Glenn’s pool! Quote "I love this pic, as I loved this boy". I don’t want to spoil it for you but there is even a story about Linda Blair....

Gov't Mule, Shout, CD.
As you know, this one has several guest appearances. Glenn Hughes, Ben Harper, Elvis Costello, Dr.John, Grace Potter, Steve Winwood.....

Oleschool. Actually my cable provider has Axs Tv. I do watch it . 5 & 1 system separate from my 2 channel set up
Nutty. Right when this thread started, beside from being a Robin Trower Fan, . I had a few different cables that were just settling in and we're just starting to make re-listening to my music quite enjoyable. Almost like having different speakers , but it was cables. I do run a True Bi-wire set up with "The One" cables. My mono amps and my speakers both have dual hook up. Making hook-up very easy I almost could not listen to my speakers with a single imput when compared to bi-wire, never tried a jumper set up. I would describe my bi-wire set up as having much more gain

I'm currently burning in a second set of Clear Day Double Shotgun's. Running a true biwire configuration. Not sure if I like the Double/Doubles or the Jumper configuration better? Both are sweet.

Johnny Cash and Jonie Mitchell "Girl from the North Country". |
...Smashing Pumpkins "Siamese Dream"...
( I saw The Smashing Pumpkins locally around 15 years ago. At this time, D'arcy was replaced by the bassists from Hole, Jimmy Chamberlin had ongoing drug issues and it was not a given that he would continue as their drummer. Jimmy was still featured by his drum kit being more, front and center, and I still recall this as one of my "moments" when I realized how great of a drummer he was/is. They performed a cover of Van Halen's "Everybody Wants Some" that was epic!)
AC/DC "High Voltage"

I spun my Glenn Hughes, The way it is. First time listening with the loaner set of Paul’s Clear Day Double Shotgun’s. Wow!
radfrad, Marc Bonilla is the guitarist on the recording. Worked with ELP, Montrose, David Coverdale. However, when you search Hughes’ discography, you’ll find he has played with just about every guitar hero out there.

Glen Hughes. The way it is. I listen to it on my road trip, the Keith's Emerson stuff sounds just great with Glen Hughes Certainly a ELP signature sound. Sonically well recorded on my home system On a side note.,The Guitar on the Cd is just great also
as mentioned before "Glen knows good musicians who to play with" i need to study over the guitar heroes names that Glen Plays with more as I'm unclear who they are

James Gang, "Yer Album" & "Thirds". Not usually a fan of remasters but these sounded pretty good on The Spot w/headphones and now on the main system. Ordered them from Amazon Prime for $5.00 each. Supposedly Bill Szymczyk was involved in these June 2000 remasters. Nice detail and separation. Neither sounds hot or shrill. BTW - the bass playing by Tom Kriss on Yer Album is just excellent. A sort of 2nd lead approach; Jack Bruce sounding. Great tone. They did an excellent job recording the bass on this one. Don’t understand why he only did the one album with Joe. http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/james-gang-tom-kriss.244993/ |
